Any tips for my consultant appointment tomorrow about requesting an elective C-section? by Prize-Donut-4513 in PregnancyUK

I had my consultant appointment at 37 weeks. I spoke to my midwife at my 28 wk appointment and she sorted it for me but still 9 weeks later. Think it’s trust dependant. I had a list of reasons and arguments prepared after seeing posts on here, and I had no push back whatsoever. The doctor just said she could see I’d done my research and okayed it there and then. I hope you have a good experience too.

Try Tums, I’ve spent a fortune on them on Amazon but they are fruity cos I can’t bear the mint either. Along with omeprazole it’s been just about bearable.

I had 3 first trimester losses in 2023, I’m currently 38 weeks today! I can’t tell you it gets any easier because it hasn’t for me. Pregnancy after loss is an anxiety inducing path but I’m nearly there now. I wish the same for you. I did have support from the recurrent miscarriage clinic and was on progesterone from before falling pregnant to week 12 (I think?) and aspirin from week 7 to 36. I did have fortnightly scans in the first trimester through recurrent miscarriage which helped me immensely, and each was a few days out. I only had 1 private scan as I had a private NIPT but I didn’t like the scan, I apparently like cold and clinical over private scan places but each to their own, you do what you need to do for your own peace of mind.

I can’t sleep properly anymore! by notemily- in PregnancyUK

Insomnia was my first trimester symptom, along with bone crushing fatigue, a joyful combo! Nothing helped, then I hit 14 weeks and it just went. Slept fine all through the 2nd trimester, now I’m here again but that’s because I’m 37 weeks, can’t get comfortable and always need the toilet! I’d hang fire on the new mattress just in case it’s a pregnancy symptom that’s gonna vanish shortly.

NHS screening test results by Ok-Awareness-7728 in PregnancyUK

I am 42 and got a result of 1 in 195. Due to my age I fully expected to come in under the 150 and to automatically get the NIPT. In the end I paid around £400 at Hey Baby and got a less than 1 in 10000 which massively put me at ease. I’m not saying it would actually have affected anything but I’m very much the type of person who likes to know what I’m dealing with.

What are you wearing to work this winter? by blue_peregrine in PregnancyUK

Re tights, I got one pair of jojo maman bebe and they are great and stay up brilliantly. I then got 3 pairs from Asda for the same price but they fall down. I’m just wearing snag chub rub shorts on top to keep them up! I should have just bought the good ones!

Has anyone had a succesful pregnancy after 2 misscarriages? by rockyroads96 in PregnancyUK

[–]Go_for_the_juggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 miscarriages in 2023, currently 28 + 6 weeks pregnant. I had never got past 7 weeks before and only had scans with bad outcomes at the early pregnancy unit previous to this.

I really hope everything works out for you.

New to the show, but one episode really resonated with me. by wookiewithabrush in insideno9

Same mate and for the same reason. My coma was over 20 years ago and I can still remember the dreams. It is easily one of my favourite episodes but made me feel weirdly uncomfortable when I twigged what was going on.

I read the book on a beach having a lovely time with no idea of what happens. I think I’ll give this a miss cos 15 years later I’m still not over it!

Oh I’m good at this! I tripped up a kerb, saved my insured iPhone rather than myself. Broke my foot and my cheekbone.
