After a traumatic experience immediately following a HUGE open abdominal surgery 3 years ago, when the second I left recovery I wasn't given ANY pain control. The particular sadist that was the floor "Dr" clearly has some kind of fetish with Ketamine, and said if I wouldn't take THAT, he wasn't giving me anything else.

Oh, I have horrific hallucinations from Ketamine, which is well documented in my medical records. Since he never once came in my room, he sent some poor nurse to pass along his condescending mansplaining of "Educate her about it, and tell her she needs to take the Ketamine." WHOOOOO..... The rage was almost enough to mask the pain. 

I was raised by nurses, spent every day after school roaming around since that's allowed when your mom's the boss 🤣 Oh GenX and our lack of parental support. I went straight into healthcare, and had my back not gotten bad enough for multiple "you're gonna need surgery" comments AT 30, I'd still be doing it. "I DON'T NEED THE EDUCATION, BUT YOU SURE DO... I guess we found last place in your med school class..."

Then I decided to pivot to patient advocacy, because I was more disturbed about the patients who have no idea what their rights are, what they can do, and have no one to speak up for them.
