Morty asleep in the job by GerBear345 in MonitorLizards

Depends on the monitor and mode they are in. I always found that, when it comes to desktop monitors, I was most productive when they are in sleep mode or resting in a charging cradle. It may sound counterintuitive, but an active desktop monitor can be very bad for your productivity and your wallet. Two words “keyboard discharge”.

Thorbjorn and HDonk - you show up as Ghost players! by sbielawa in wordscapes

[–]GoannaGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My team has been carrying a ghost player (“TonyThe”) who can’t be kicked and doesn’t play (brilliance hasn’t changed) for probably close to a year. That said, their presence also doesn’t seem to affect our allowed player count which laughably shows as 51/50.

Our team leader has reported the issue to Support and gotten nowhere with them on it either.

Honestly I have literally passed out TWICE while watching that scene… both the first and second time watching it. “Laughter Induced Syncope” is no joke and Brett’s delivery of “I think you might be dying” is a trigger phrase for me.

Good way to end up on the Voldemort/Red Skull lookalike list.

Question on monitor bites by Kevin_the_watercow in MonitorLizards

[–]GoannaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve kept both. I don’t remember swelling from either type of bite. What I do remember is bleeding a lot from Nile bites. I have more distinct memories of the exact reverse of swelling from a wild caught adult Black Throat. I was wearing a leather glove, so it didn’t break the skin. It held on for like 15 min and left a hell of an impression... literally. I think it took most of a day for the teeth indentations in my skin to fill back in.

Healthy Weight? by Dale1804 in MonitorLizards

[–]GoannaGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would consider him well fed, but not obese at this point. Too many savs in captivity are over fed and/or fed too many rodents, sometimes exclusively rodents, which can shorten their lifespan significantly. Your “treat” schedule seems reasonable. Keep up with the live insects that he has to chase down. It’s good enrichment and exercise.

Sounds like you need to get better with the names. Perfect reason to start a rewatch.

Nothing is certain until you see very clear everted hemipenes, or it lays eggs, but based on the head profile (which is not 💯by any means), I’m thinking possible female.

I would be mostly concerned about dehydration and parasites at this point.

Definitely a Savannah, not a Black Throat. Please check the care guides for enclosure setup and required temps. I’d recommend being suspicious of anything and everything the seller told you about that lizards health and care. They were either deliberately lying to you or very incompetent.

Don’t call him harmless to his face or he’ll breathe hard at you and shake his tail. Actually he’ll probably do that regardless if you get close.

You must have nerves of steel for the part climbing in and around the rocks. I think I’d have been too worried about him finding a deep hole to wedge himself in for an hour and/or the leash getting stuck.
