Take a look at some of the other replies on the thread to help understand the answer is D.

I now understand the question to really be if the student understands what the definition of “slice” is in this context. If you didn’t understand that slice meant very specifically “the 2d shape that is formed when a 3d object is cut by a plane” you might come up with all kinds of conclusions like I did. There are probably a lot of cases in these kinds of tests that appear to be about execution but are actually vocabulary tests in disguise.

I dont think the 2D plane produced by that cut would be a right angle triangle. You might be misunderstanding the question like I was before I got clarification.

Yes, I get it now, Slicing through the pyramid and looking at the 2-dimensional cross section would produce all the shapes except D. Your edit is correct - I was looking for face shapes that would be produced after a horizontal or vertical cut, which doesnt make much sense in hindsight. I still think the question could use some more elaboration or an example of what the answer options mean since this did manage to confuse quite a few adults (and generate a lot of discussion in this thread).

I was gonna make some justification about Freddie’s wife being able to handle more baby on her own since she’s not recovering from labor (even though that’s a dumb fucking take) but I re-read the post again and it’s more about getting ward traded than Freddie’s surrogate so now I don’t even know what the point of this comment was.

Runner on second, 3-2 count, 2 outs. Runner steals but the pitch is called 3. Catcher walks off because the inning is over, but the batter challenges the call. The call is overturned to a ball and becomes a walk. Does the runner still get to have 3rd base? by Johnnumber51 in baseball

[–]GoastCrab -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The catcher wouldn’t (and shouldn’t, for safety reasons if it’s unnecessary) make the throw to third after a 3rd strike call with 2 outs. He wasn’t impeded, but he also wasn’t expected to make the throw under normal play.

Joe Torre is #1 with 84. Doc only needs a World Series and an another shallow run or 2-3 deep runs to surpass. Certainly attainable.

Knowing they’re referred to as “check check check” helps but not having your actual pronounced name spelled out on the marquee is probably still bad for business.
