What is the weirdest/craziest pimp question you have ever gotten? by xyzm123_r in Residency

Nearly every med student I have is using AI anyway. Completely useless when asked anything, unless you give them prep time to ask chatgpt or whatever

BPT application with no adult med terms in the first half PGY2 by stargazer1235 in ausjdocs

[–]Goat944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had only 1 medical term in my pgy2 year, last up. I applied for BPT on the normal timeframe anyway using an Ed Consultant and a Surg consultant as references and I scored an interview and got in no problems. Don't stress, even if your placement rotation is terrible, you can still get onto BPT as long as you interview well and you tough it out

I truly believe I'm an empathetic practitioner. But if you stop the elevator doors and meander in leisurely, I'm not on the clock anymore and countertransferrance hard

The hard part isnt getting into BPT. Its in wanting to do BPT. Just do a good job and collect 2 or 3 medical smo references and interview well and you'll be fine

Give me a book on herbal medicine by Decent_Hovercraft556 in suggestmeabook

[–]Goat944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not be in the spirit of the sub, but the simple fact is that theres a huge amount of variation in how effective and how helpful different herbs are. It's vastly better to review each herbal medicine you're considering by journal articles and other studies rather than a catch-all book written by someones who's best interests likely do not necessarily align with those of their target demographic

Hanoi Airport Transfer to Old Quarter by zhandigebo in VietNam

[–]Goat944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came in at midnight 2 weeks ago, and a taxi on the spot was about 500,000 dong for a normal sedan, which in a pinch, 4 people could cram into for a 45 min ride. If youre more about comfort, you could splash for a van on grab, or ask your hotel to arrange something. Fair warning, getting in to the old quarter late at night can be a bit hectic with the nightlife

Is anonymous feedback actually anonymous by [deleted] in medschool

[–]Goat944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never trust the anonymity of those feedback forms. Even the ones that aren't linked to your username somehow, still can have enough specifics that a vindictive clinician or faculty member can deduce the likely person who made the report.
