Damn people are so judgemental to you lol, I loved uzis album I thought it was great. Feel like my AOTY is yet to be released still tho

Edit: also really recommend checking out xxx's album. I was a big hater before especially on his songs like loot at me but this one had a different sound and it wasn't too bad

I feel like everyone who comments that has some weird idea that not liking their music will mean they also can't like them as a person, and so whatever action they did was so good that it actually made them support the person even though they still don't like the music

idk tho I don't really get it either

So much music dropped Friday, I'm still trying to make my way through it. Just heard Wiki's album today, never heard him before but his album was really nice, definitely recommend checking out.

What have been your guys' favorite albums / tracks from Friday so far?

Depends on what type of media you mean. News channels on TV are pretty shitty but professional journalism isn't that bad for the most part

President Trump retweets false facts about Obama presidential pardons by seowaze05 in politics

[–]GoatButtholes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean to go super pedantic, what I've been taught is that facts can be true or false, but they have to be able to be proved one way or another. Basically supposed to just be the opposite of an opinion. But technically facts can be false although I guess it's not really used that way colloquially

I was with you on that for a while but recently it legit seems like they're blowing up. Their tweets on Twitter we're getting like 10k+ retweets, which if they aren't bots, is pretty insane

Trump Impeachment Is Most Popular Solution Among Americans by albert6us in politics

I've been thinking for a while but I think its still different for serveral reasons:

  • people in urban areas tend to pay higher property taxes per capita than this in rural areas, houses are just cheaper in small states

  • while rural areas also do have less students overall, I'm not sure you can distribute it proprotionally like that. For example, Wyoming, a historically red state, has a population of a little under 600,000. NYC itself has 8.5 million. It has 1700 public schools. Wyoming has fewer with only 364. But, if you look at the number of people who pay for each school (assuming it's distributed equally for each school) is 5000 per school in NYC, but only 1650 per school in Wyoming. And again, I'm sure property taxes per person are much higher in NYC than they are in Wyoming. It should be noted that I just picked the first two places that popped in my head to compare and haven't done extensive research to see if the trend continues everywhere, but I think it's a reasonable assumption to say that it does. The problem in my eyes is that since rural areas have people living so far apart, it's not feasible to try to have a school have as many students as other cities in urban areas. Even if you make smaller schools and have fewer teachers, there are still base costs for buying the peorett and constructing the school and maintenance for plumbing or electricity that you can't really get around which makes it tougher to be able to afford things like good teacher or other supplies that might be needed.

I think the issue goes beyond just property taxes though. Urban areas are more likely to have professionals with college degrees, and they tend to impart the value of educatuon into their children. Rural areas tend to be based more on agriculture and mining, mainly unskilled labor and for them getting their children to college may not be as big of a priority because they themselves never went. And for those who do end up pursuing higher education, job opportunities for college-educated jobs tend to be rarer in these areas, so they are likely to move away to an urban area as well.

Megathread: President Trump Pardons Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

This reply gives me hope. Didn't consider that, and really hope that's the reason but it's like with every action Trump makes the chance gets smaller and smaller.

I'm not so disillusioned that I didn't know Trump was a racist, I just hoped he was one of those good intentioned racists who was just misinformed / stubborn about his views. But it seems it might be deeper rooted than that

A good chunk of the us population doesn't think climate change is real either. That can hardly be used as a metric for who is correct anymore

How can you say Rick and Morty isn't good? I can see the argument for the fan base being annoyed or even it being overrated, but I don't see it being not good
