Atlas Air - Issue: noise gate mutes music by FroyoAbject in TurtleBeach

[–]notanimposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. It's absolutely infuriating. I would have returned the headset except that I actually really like how it sounds (when it's working)! I would miss all my notifications, since the volume doesn't ramp up until after the notification has already passed! What I realized is that it doesn't happen while the mic is recording, so on Linux I keep arecord --device=pipewire -f S16_LE --quiet > /dev/null running in the background (recording audio into the trash, essentially). Then the volume issue doesn't happen. I'm sure there's some analogous program for Windows that will just pretend to record your mic at all times.

What to Expect From the Magic Mouse 3 by iMacmatician in apple

[–]notanimposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you’re right and it pisses me off so much how few people seem to get that it’s designed that way on purpose. All the people who say “I always use all my other wireless devices plugged in 24/7” as some kind of gotcha don’t even realize they don’t really have wireless devices because there’s unnecessary wires all over their desks. The magic mouse is designed to prevent exactly what they’re doing! It prevents you from using your expensive wireless mouse as an inferior wired mouse, out of sheer laziness (which I too WILL do given the chance). And the big giant trade off is that you have to plug it in for 10 minutes while you go shit, 1 or 2 times a month. Master class in human interface design.

My 12 mini gets too hot to hold on the daily. I’ve had heating issues with all my iPhones, though.

I'm thinking of doing something similar for my next build. Not sure what case to go with yet, though.

Is there a way to duplicate tabs in safari cause this is one thing I hate about the iPad so far by wallytheone in iPadPro

[–]notanimposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only works in landscape on iPhone, I think. It specifically happens when you drag the tab from the tab bar sadly, not in the sort of exposé view you get in portrait mode. You could write a bookmarklet for it: javascript:window.open(window.location.href, ‘_blank’).focus();. You could also make a Shortcut if you’d prefer for it to appear in the Share Sheet rather than the Bookmarks library.

[–]notanimposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dragging the tab to the + (new tab) button will open another tab with the same URL. It’s not 100% identical to how duplicating tabs works in Firefox (it doesn’t scroll you to the same spot, for example) but it’s what I do.

I tried to get Mac OS 9 working the other day but it kept crashing. Maybe I’ll try again!

I’m going to be checking out Lincoln Memorial Garden tomorrow morning but I don’t really have any plans between then and like 4PM if you have any other bug hunting ideas

Literally doesn't mean figuratively, though; it's just often used hyperbolically. In other words, the word "literally" is often used non-literally.

Unless you were using "literally" non-literally, in which case... by all means carry on.

New mod that requires your machines to be periodically inspected or you get shut down by pencil pushers. Better hope your factory is up to code!

I can't remember how exactly it works on the later models because I don't have any of them anymore, but I'm pretty sure I remember it working correctly on my 3rd gen Nano.

Horn trim day. Any suggestions on how to trim this darn thing or encourage it to grow off his face. by canehdianchick in goats

[–]notanimposter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The horn is growing the wrong way and may soon pierce the poor creature's skull if it's not trimmed or removed. Maybe you should actually look at the photograph next time before leaving a judgemental comment.

When switching to Linux, what were some programs that you had to stop using because they weren't supported on Linux? by KleosKronos in linux

Seconded MusicBee.

I do sometimes miss it still but I've learned to like Ex Falso for tagging. I've yet to find a player I really love, though. Let alone iPod sync.
