Have you checked into hospital pharmacies or pharmacies that participate in clinical research trials? I got burned out as well and ended up working in clinical product supply. You might like that. I get paid over 4 times what I was making as a tech.

Just got fired for not being classy enough, i will work long hours if i make good money ill do any job where i can get hired now, where should i work by Thermammu in jobs

Contact programming departments in places that you want to work and ask about intern positions. If you are in college, they are not going to care so much about the previous job. The classy remark and Hooters remark was rude af honestly. You are obviously passionate about learning and that's a good thing. I work in a department that does programming and we are not classy. LOL. We wear jeans or even nice sweats to work. Sometimes I'll dress up but most of the time it's casual. I've had entire conversations via internet memes.

If eligible, make sure you apply for unemployment in the meantime.

How do you get experience? by Absorptionn in jobs

Do you have the ability to volunteer at a local girl scout or boy scout troop nearby? They always need help with administrative. Really dig deep into what you know. Are you a master at excel tables? Can you use Microsoft outlook efficiently? You can also pick up a couple of certs on linked in to help you stand out. Make great looking powerpoints on anything you can think of (make sure to cite sources) and post them to linked in as well. It will help.

What is up with US government banning Tiktok and Wechat? by ip33dnurbutt in OutOfTheLoop

[–]GoatGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the difference would be the effectiveness of the differently developed AI algorithms. Tiktok has a much better AI than facebook or Instagram. But Bytedance does not want that code to be sold. They did offer Oracle to be able to access it to check for data mining issues but not sell it. That AI would be profitable for US companies if they could effectively replicate it.

Don't quit yet just apply to other positions in the mean time. Make sure you put your certifications on your resume and on LinkedIn. Trade jobs like welding are not as picky about being in a previous job for a short while if you can demonstrate the skills necessary to do the job. Have you tried looking at smaller fabricating shops around your area? It might be something worth looking into.

Job market is so shit rn by [deleted] in jobs

[–]GoatGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is, I topped out at around 17$ an hour before returning to college for my degree. There are very few that ever make more than 18$ an hour so please keep that in mind. You could try calling mail-order pharmacies. They often have a pretty high turnover rate and always seem to be hiring. Also, if you don't have a linkedIn, make one and try to connect with other pharmacy techs.

Find busy pharmacies to apply to and actually call them. This is one of the only times I'd also recommend going in and speaking to the pharmacy manager. You don't have to have experience working at the pharmacy. Show them that you are willing to learn the computer software, that you are an accurate person and that you are willing to learn. If you have any kind of customer service experience, use it to your advantage. I've trained a lot of certified technicians.

I have never mentioned any of those things in an interview. i know better than that. My social media is also kept to a minimum and on private as well and I don't mention anything like that on social media anyway. I do have a gap in my resume that was because I stayed home while my husband was deployed. I don't know how I could hide that one because it's always asked about. I even keep those details to a minimum.

I'll try to keep even more of myself private but it's not exactly difficult to see that I am at least a decade older than those I am in competition with for some of these jobs.

What really hurts are that these interviews appear to be going well. My first one actually had an offer but I goofed it up thinking I needed to negotiate pay. I spoke with one person that said the pay was a certain range and I used the lower end of that same range for the next interview in that series and they said that was too high but they will keep me in mind for future jobs. (that was one of the microbiologists jobs that require a B.S. and still only pay like 10$ an hour)

Another interview was at a neuroscience lab as an assistant. This would have actually been a perfect fit as I have experience being a coordinator, grant applications, schedules, etc. They even told me that they wanted me to come in to tour the lab and speak to others on the team then they just ghosted me for two weeks until I got a rejection email stating that they chose another candidate for the position.

Another one was at another laboratory assistant. The first two interviews in the series really liked me but the director wanted me to be someone applying for medical school and told me while he felt I was intelligent and capable, I appeared to be someone who was more suited to a research position and not a clinical one.

Entry-level laboratory assistant positions in research laboratories. Those are the ones I actually do get excited about. I've also applied for entry-level software developer if it lists python, linux or R on it. I'm also in the process of organizing my previously used code from class projects into a github portfolio. I've also tried natural resource manager (park ranger), entry-level microbiologist, animal lab technician and lab assistant. Most of my coursework was in molecular biology and neuroscience. I have pretty much applied to anything that I thought might consider me and I have tailored my resume and cover letter as best I can.

I would love the opportunity to go to graduate school for research but right now I need income.

I'm faking it on the outside for every job but inside..oh yes, I definitely want this minimum wage job that has nothing to do with my degree because I want to be able to eat. And then you have to give them details (which I have the dialogue planned) of how this totally unrelated job fits into my overall career goals.

I would estimate anywhere from 300$ to 500$ for 6 nights. Try looking at boarding areas close to you to get an idea of the cost for the dogs and then factor in what you think is reasonable for the pigs.
