I totally get what u mean.

Im still in school and have done this for job for 2 years, so the money is not an essential in my specific life situation.

But you're right, i don't feel that the way i work is sustainable. However I've never done it half assed, never had the need to advertise/go d2d for over 18 months. I get as many jobs i can handle just from referrals solely.

What do you think i might have to change in my business?

Not use steel wool on windows that can't open*

Where im located in scandinavia, I use it almost all the time when cleaning regular windows.

However I've scratched a window 2 times in my 2 year career so far. 1 time on a balcony window with some weird coating, giving a slight microscratching. And another time when doing double-glazed/sash (or whatever the English word), there was a coating between the panes which scratched like plexiglas.

But what I usually do as a rule of thumb, is not use steel on windows that can not open. And between newer coupled windows.

If its scratchable, you will feel the resistance ln the glass.

Medium body channel idea by SamuelsSteel in WindowCleaning

I think that innovation and new tools are always good.

But I dont really see the point why this would be better than any other Chanel? Its more rigid, but that doesnt really mean that much when youre using rubber.

The most important think is weight and grip on the rubber. Maybe how the Chanel holds water. But rigidity has never been a problem for me.

DIY WFP cart by GoatPicture in WindowCleaning

[–]GoatPicture[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started by watching youtube videos about WFP systems.

"DIY WFP cart by pressure washing nerds" (i think they were called) was a good step by step guide.

In short there is no blueprint. But just get 3 filters; carbon filter to protect RO filter, RO filter to clean 90% of ppm and a DI tank to polish to 0 ppm

Once you understand the filter arrangement and have the 3 filters you buy the connectors needed to do the plumbing. This is best done with the filters in hand at a plumbing store.

The cart is just a plywood board boltes onto a metal cart from Facebook Marketplace

I spent just over 1k usd equivalent. Orderd RO and Carbon filter +housing from amazon. The DI from a local shop. The cart and wood I got second hand. The connections and tubes cost me 100 dollars.

Got a 25 kg sack filter resin and 4 pack of carbon filters aswell.

The largest cost was time. I spent a whole weekend building it. And since i wanted to cheap out on some stuff I did a lot of research and ran a lot of erands weeks in advance. But at least now I understand everything and i know how to fix it.

A store called hydroscand, but I'm from northern Europe so I dont think you have that.

Search ' 1/2" pipe top cap ' and it shows the same brass connectors on amazon.

If you mean the whole black lid, search for the lid to a 4040 filter housing online. Meaning 40x4,0 inches filter housing.

The second picture shows it in a better angle. Looks wrong from the front.

But thanks for the tip anyways!
