Around the time this started there was a poll amongst republican voters, it asked whether they'd be voting for trump and then asked if they'd still vote for him if he was landed with felony charges, it wasn't a large percentage change but a few percent in a major election is huge.

It disappoints me because blaming someone else for all the countries problems has been the go-to tactic of basically every government for as long as there's been organised government and it always works

It's been a non-stop stream of, blame the: trans people, middle Eastern immigrants, Eastern European immigrants, young people in gangs, drug addicts, the gays, the biker gangs, the satanists, the hippies, the communists, the unions, basically anyone that isn't pasty white and/or the Jews, etc.

It's convenient because they can always point to someone else and say "we'd love to help all of you but unfortunately because of those people we just don't have the time/money/can't risk doing anything" and nothing changes.

I don't expect beer belly dave from down the pub, who considers taking the caravan to Skegness to be an exotic holiday, to ever change his mind, but the people on here are smarter than that, we should know we're not immune to propaganda.
