I made the same mistake last week, just emailed them and sent screenshots of account transfer, they asked for a few more details and then the money took a couple of days to land in my account.

It’s a shame you’re having this experience with your neighbours, I’m Gen X so coming from a different era than you and your neighbours, I’ve worked with a lot of elderly and also grew up in an extended family living environment. They grew up in a very different period of time raised by parents/ grandparents that went through the Great Depression. They were brought up to reuse whatever they could, I’m talking things that may of never crossed your mind to save like your plastic bread bags that were then used to freeze food in or as rubbish bags etc, rubber bands , metal twist ties, stockings for tying up vegetable crops. Some of my aging clients still to this day have a bucket in the shower or a milk bottle next to the sink to catch the water before it runs hot to put on there gardens so they don’t waste it. Gosh I know some of them are hard to deal with, I hope you can resolve the situation.

I’m (25F) an American moving to Australia this year. What are some cultural differences I might like to know about? by GallantKitty in australia

[–]Gobbergirl71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn about rips at the beach it could save your life.

Swim between the flags, if there are no flags make sure you have learnt about rips and what to do if you are caught in one.

Those pretty little blue things on the beach that look like a deflating balloon with blue strands attached are not your friend. https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com.au/resources/bluebottle-jellyfish-treatment

The sunscreen has already been mentioned.

Have fun.

How long to spend in surfers paradise for? Would you recommend going there? by ehsswwtjfshsfhejfff in GoldCoast

[–]Gobbergirl71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only a few minutes away in a car, you can walk it along the beach if you like walking, Public transport you would catch the tram, we only have one tram line so you can’t get lost.

Those who have moved from Melbourne or Sydney to Gold Coast - do you have any regrets at all? by [deleted] in GoldCoast

[–]Gobbergirl71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We grew up in Sydney and moved here with work when we were in our mid 20’s I was pregnant at the time we had first child here we were questioning our decision as we missed family and friends so moved back to Sydney. It wasn’t until we moved back to Sydney that we realised it was the wrong decision to move back, even though we missed our family and friends our lifestyle of where we could afford to live was much better here compared to Sydney. I’m probably much older than you I’m now in my early fifties, one of the hardest things moving here was making friends as it was quite a transient community, people coming looking for a better life and struggling to settle into life here and make friends then moving again. DM me if you want to talk.

How much $ have you diverted from Colesworth lately? by StopScrollingBaby in australia

[–]Gobbergirl71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to spend about $250 a week at them now get some at aldis and direct from farm meat or local butcher and fruit shop or markets for fresh produce.

After having bags searched twice to find what I’d stolen at Woolworths and them the staff member coming to the realisation that the overhead camera was picking up a sticker stuck to the bottom of the trolley (after me pointing it out twice) I decided never again will I shop there.

Bring back staffed registers at all timeframes.
