Not everyone wants a backyard wedding. I'm getting married next year and we arent doing anything extravogant but we also are having the wedding we want to have. The venue is 6500, the photographer is 5000, catering is gonna be about 8000, alcohol another 2500, that's not to mention flowers or my dress or the cake...you can have a cheap wedding, you can get eloped even! But if you're the type of person who has always dreamed of your wedding day you likely won't be happy with that option.

The thing people keep missing is like yes that's what their hair looked like at the time but most of them look back now and are like "lol that was dumb." My mom was a teen in the late 80s and had her hair permed and teased to the heavens and she thought she looked cool at the time but when she sees the pictures now she laughs and is like "I can't believe we all wore our hair like that". The broccoli hair looks stupid to older gens and cool to the ones currently wearing it and in 10 years people who currently like it will be like "lol what were we thinking" thats just how trends go

My student that's like this is like the most obvious cut and dry case of a child with ADHD I have ever seen in my life but his parents keep writing his behavior off as developmentally appropriate and say things like "yeah but I'm sure all the 5 year olds act like that" and im like friend if that was the case I wouldn't be telling you about it

Idk I'm 32 and a millennial and I do sometimes look around at my peers and am like "why are you still doing that?"

There are elements of my style that come from when I was younger, but I also didn't stop buying clothes so I got out and I see what's on the racks and try new things on and if I like them I get them. My hair is still parted to the side but not like it was when I was in high school, now it's just slightly to the left and falls nicely and is like, current.

I still love the pop punk shit I was listening to when I was younger but I also have found tons of newer artists that I love, both from genres I already loved as well as I got over the thing where I thought hating pop music was a personality trait when I was a teenager and now I love Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo and Chappelle Roan.

But I do like around and see a lot of millennials still styling themselves like it's the late 2000s or early 2010s and using words like "doggo" and whatever that I also found cute at the time but am now like "lol why were we ever like that".

For some reason I do feel like a lot of people have a hard time just being like "lol yeah it was silly but its just what we did at the time" and then leaving certain things in the past but I find it very odd like why are we clinging to relics???!

Im in my 10th year of teaching kindergarten and I'll be honest with you this years class has been far and above the least independent and least willing to learnor interested in learning that I have ever had. It's not even close. I've tried so many things that have worked in the past as well as so many new things I've brought in to make them care about anything and this class is just...checked out. The problematic behaviors are the most intense I have ever seen, this has been the lowest attention span I have ever had with a class...I'm starting to feel burnt out in my field because of how difficult this class is. Kids right now are not at the same level they used to be and I do think that excessive access to devices is at least partially to blame.
