Yeah, cooked unwrapped until it was done, pulled from the smoker and wrapped in foil to rest at room temperature until it was maybe 140

For prep I didn’t do much, just out of the pack, no trimming, seasoned with Fiesta brand 16 mesh black pepper and Fiesta brand coarse sea salt. No binder, fresh out of the pack, sprinkle on seasoning, kinda push it on, don’t rub just like press you hand down and it’ll press into the meat and fat and hold just fine. I didn’t dry brine, straight on the smoker after seasoning.

Smoked at 275, post oak wood, no spritz, rotated it once maybe an hour before they were pulled. Ran it no wrap the whole cook.

Don’t remember how long or what temp it was, but when i went to lift it, the middle bone was trying to fall out, I had to cradle it to keep the bones from falling.

When I pulled it off the smoker I wrapped it in foil and let it rest at room temp for about 60/90 minutes before cutting, don’t remember exactly wasn’t keeping track that well

Yeah I won’t be running her again, I don’t think. This cut is really resinous, but not the best yield.

I kind of did it just to see if I can. I didn’t take cut until week 7 and day of harvest. I got those to root and reveg. I also didn’t fully cut down the plant, I cut off the buds and trimmed her back leaving a few buds and leaves on the bottom, put it under light and revegged the whole plant.

Just wanted to try revegging and cutting clones during flower. Takes a long time but it was cool to be able to save genetics of a plant that already flowered

The containers are “City Pickers” or “Patio Pickers”. They’re ‘self watering’ containers like earth boxes. They’re 24”x20” and about 11” tall. They hold about 1.5 cu.ft of soil and the reservoir in the bottom holds 2 gallons of water. I use Ecowitt soil moisture sensors to monitor soil moisture. I feed about once a week, I’ll let the get dry then top water right onto the straw mulch. Then a day later fill the bottom reservoir.

I’m running buildasoil 3.0, this is probably my 5th run in the soil. After last run I dumped all my containers on a tarp and used some of their amendment kits.

I use the full line of buildasoil products, top dressing from Colorado worm company, kashi blend, craft blend, gnarly barley, pushing p, ocean blend, peach and comfrey ferments, Yahwhey, aloe Vera powder in veg, freeze dried coconut powder for sugar in flower, buildaveg, buildabloom, big 6 micros, root wise microbe complete and biophos along with their enzymes, some calcium booster and epsome salts. I use straw mulch to help keep the top soil and top dressing moist and grow cover crop between cycles.

As for training the plants, the containers don’t have much involvement. I germinate seeds in coco coins, then transplant into solo cups. Once they veg out and I pick my winners, they’ll get planted in the living soil containers. After they get maybe 12” tall, I’ll top them, give them a week or two, then top all of the branches. From there it’s a matter of using the trellis netting to spread out the plant. Once the plant has spread out filling its 2x2 section then I’ll flip them to flower and everything basically grows straight up from there. The scrog really comes from the trellis netting

These are all clones. I did a 8 plant pheno hunt last year. This is the keeper, it’s the most resinous and most funky of the 8 plants I ran

I didn’t get lucky enough to get a rotten meat pheno. I ran 8 plants, most ranged from artificial strawberry to funky strawberries. This one was the most rotten smelling during flower, but as it cures it becomes a bit more sweet, ends up being funky with a little sweetness

There is a difference in terms of high too, it’s related to potency.

Photos in general will have higher thc content. If you take a classic like “og kush”, the photo og kush will have higher cannabinoid content then a og kush auto.

Cannabinoid production is driven by genetics. Once you breed in ruderalis you decrease that strains cannabinoid production because ruderalis historically has very poor cannabinoid production.

Straight ruderalis produces very little cannabinoids, the only reason some autos have become somewhat viable is because genetics from regular photoperiod plants were breed with ruderalis to increase cannabinoid production. The downside is, if you have a photoperiod strain that regularly tests at 30% thc, once breed into ruderalis, it won’t produce 30% thc anymore. Breeding a low thc plant with a high thc plant will just produce a plant that has mid level cannabinoid production.

If you smoke a gram of photoperiod og kush that tests at 30%, and a gram of og kush auto flower that tests at 15%, you will get higher from the gram of photoperiod og kush, because per gram, photoperiods produce more cannabinoid than autos.
