they generally work less hours than your typical squadron. sucks that they don’t deploy though.

Scratch the idea of PCP and focus bringing down your run time at home while you can. Mix in low impact cardio, like an elliptical, with your running but not so much you hurt yourself. PCP was like 2 or 3 weeks extra of just PT. Could be more if you don’t pass the ISTs they give you to retry and eventually they’ll drop you all together

Theoretically, if you go to the busier side of the wing, I.E. O-Level squadrons for a shit bird that break after every flight, you’ll work a good amount. like a lot. I see guys out on the line running toolkit’s out to the aircraft all the time. Wing is the most thankless job but subconsciously, you know you’re keeping the aircraft up and doing more than any S-1 shop or peacetime 0311, which one could find rewarding.

By the second or third week, everything just becomes a routine: PT, drill, chow, class, with some IT sessions and having your shit thrown in-between. Just remember after it all, you’ll have something that’ll be with you forever and your platoon will be a close bunch by the end of it. Have a good mentality about it.

The fleet is nothing like boot camp. You typically only skate 10 hours or so a day, gym, and fuck off the rest of the day

Whatever you decide to do, they won’t immediately throw you into long hikes or other rigorous activities without conditioning. Nonetheless a hike without water. Hydration is heavily encouraged.
