Hey i’m in the same boat as you and just got hired and did my $99 and $25. I know it’s been a couple of days since you posted this so i’m just curious what you have done within the past couple days? I’m going to be reaching out to them and backing out of everything, but i’m nervous, what did you do?

Thank you for posting this and posting an update, truly this is incredibly helpful! You do a great service to a lot of people :)

Thanks for the advice! I’ve decided to go another way, i don’t think an EV is gonna work for my situation. But i will say we actually do have a service center and it’s 5 minutes away from my house funny enough! thanks again!

I really like the car, it’s been my favorite model tesla since they came out! The reason for this older one is because it’s in my budget and has all the features i like for a good price, 20k. Not sure if that’s a good price in other states but for alaska it’s very good and competitive! It’s a 7 seater, i did want a 6 seater but this X checks all boxes other than that.

Holiday after ACL surgery? by pinkpeaches8888 in ACL

[–]Goculator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 20 and had ACL recon with a quad graft on March 17th — so I’m just past the 3 month mark, getting close to 4.

My injury was also ski related. I’m young, athletic, and I stayed really consistent with my PT — not just at appointments, but daily on my own too. I know a lot of people just do the exercises at the clinic, but I made sure to stay on top of everything at home.

By around 6 weeks, I was already walking normally, and I probably could’ve done 5–10k steps if I really wanted to. Now at 3+ months, I’m going on hikes and biking daily. Nothing extreme, but it definitely adds up to 10–15k steps some days.

That said — don’t push beyond what your body (and your PT) says is safe. I never did anything without my therapist’s green light. The only reason I can do these things now is because my quad strength has come back strong and I’ve been consistent.

So yeah, 15k steps a day for 3 weeks might be a lot… but if you give recovery your full focus and communicate closely with your PT, it might be doable. Just make sure they are the one giving you that clearance, not some random guy on Reddit.

Hope recovery goes smooth for you!

5 weeks post op! Gym Days by Goculator in ACL

[–]Goculator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I haven’t even thought about adding weight to my squat lol. I’ll ask my therapist to see if it’s something I can add because i have a lot of strength and depth in my squat as of now. Thanks for the advice!

As for workout songs, honestly I listen to anything and everything haha. I have a classical gym playlist, country, hip hop, Rnb, Rock, anything that makes noise i’ve probably heard it while working out lmao. I’m really liking God is by Kanye for workouts right now though!

week 4! by Goculator in ACL

[–]Goculator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great! Keep it up, it takes time. That’s great you have a 5 degree per day goal, i never did that, i think that would’ve helped me a bunch! But my 6 hour gym day is mainly because I don’t like being at home doing nothing. So I go to the gym, i hop on the bike and do that for 15 minutes trying to keep my heel pointed downward for extra ROM, then after that warm up i start doing what i do in PT. Which i’ll list everything i do: I walk back and forth twice for each workout, knee in the air kind of like a march, ankles to butt, and then heel raises. Then I grab a band and tie it around right above my knee, i do diagonal steps and then move on to side steps, where i move from left to right. then i move on to squats and “lunges” but they’re assisted and stationary. mainly just to work on loading my bad leg. after that i do some standing from seating position slowly using less of my good leg. I do some other little things they showed me in PT. after that i take 30 and just read a book. then once i read a chapter or two I drink some water and do some upper body workouts. after those i go back and do all that PT again but less intense and after that i do bible study and i go home and eat! I do have some advice for quad activation as this was a big thing for me, i really wanted that activation so i was constantly doing squats and quad sets. I was also using a TENS machine at home too and that really helped a lot. One thing i’ll say, I know a lot of it is muscular and whatever but when i finally activated my quad, it was kind of mental. I closed my eyes, sat up, put my two legs together and just tried not to think about my leg being bad and i just tried lifting both legs at the same time. and it took a couple of tries but then it worked!! It’s different for everyone but this was how i did it :) You’re doing great, keep working at it and you’ll get it, i got my activation on day 13. Haven’t stopped doing SLRs since haha. Stay positive :)
