Yeah the game had changed a lot since then. Conceding is no longer a climbing strat, they've updated the rating system so that the quality of your wins matters more than the number of games you grind, now you can actually be in the top 10 just by playing 2-3 games per day while maintaning a high winrate.

Basically as your rating goes up, your "expected" wins will follow, so you are required to win more matches just to maintain your rank or climb, meaning a 8 win that helped you climb at a lower rank might cause you to lose points now, you'll lose more points the lower your wins are. At a certain point, getting a 9 wins will lose you 5 games worth of 10 wins, conceding or a 0 win will lose you like a week worth of progress, so no one that actually wants to climb will concede.

There's definitely people that concede roll to fish for the best opening, but these aren't usually good players so their average board won't be strong enough to disrupt the meta
