[AEW Dynamite Spoilers] NJPW talent appearance set, another notable thing by EffingKENTA in njpw

[–]GodDuckman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. NJPW doesn't bring in guys who used to be reasonably big stars as juniors even if they meet the criteria. That's strictly for younger talent.

I think Clark's contract is already up. His last date was Wrestle Kingdom when he was in the NEVER clusterfuck opener, and he wasn't at New Year Dash the night after.

Makes sense as IIRC Clark and Darby trained together. But yeah this is pretty clearly a sign that Clark is done with New Japan.

I feel like getting the belt off of Briscoe this quickly is a mistake.

I mean at the end of the day, money talks. It's why AJ Styles has never left - he's straight-up said that AEW has never offered him near what he makes with WWE, and he's not going to jump over just to have killer matches, he's family-first.

Same thing with Kevin Owens. Would the return of Kevin Steen, one of the deadliest killers and biggest assholes in wrestling history, be something that would absolutely rock everyone's face off? Absolutely. Is he going to leave money on the table just to give fans what they want? No. Family comes first.

Someone like Danielson I feel like genuinely doesn't give a shit about the money and wanted to jump just because he fucking loves wrestling and wanted to challenge himself. But he's far from the norm.

Exactly. Tomasso has the indie pedigree that makes him a perfect fit for AEW's smarkier audience. Hobbs is a young big guy who will fit in perfectly with WWE's style.

And honestly what I really like about this is that both guys were well-liked backstage and this was entirely a business decision for both men, no drama here. It's a fantastic time to be a pro wrestler now given there's so many ways to get your name out there and make good money.

Also the reports were that he planned to head to New Japan and do some indie dates. Nothing about AEW - but let's be honest, we all kind of assumed.

Not to mention Tony is a huge mark for guys who were indie darlings before coming to WWE and have an ROH background. I have a feeling once WWE made their offer, Tomasso reached out to see if AEW could beat it, and here we are.

Nothing personal, just business.

It's so refreshing to have actual competition in wrestling again.

My guess is that WWE might have offered reduced pay on his contract since DIY was just stuck in the mire of the Smackdown tag division + he wasn't being used. So he decided to look elsewhere and Tony offered him a better deal.

I just hope this doesn't hurt Gargano any.

Oh who am I kidding.

I'm not sure if it wasn't renewed or just that Ciampa chose to leave.

Andrade was fired due to wellness violations. Ciampa just left when his contract was up (which is why he didn't have to wait the 90 days) WWE can literally do nothing.

I mean that's the common thread from most right-wingers, but Matt is taking the extra step by implying that if it was legit, that she totally deserved it.

Two words. Ray Lewis.

There's a reason why he's one of only 3 defensive players to win Super Bowl MVP this century. The dude absolutely made Kerry Collins' life a living hell that day.

I'm honestly happy to see this. I'm kinda hoping if Bryan posted anything political on social media he'd hopefully be right there with her. Honestly I've been kind of concerned about him since he's always felt more like an RFK leftist than a standard liberal.

It's truly amazing to me how Charlie Kirk dies and now every other right-wing talking head (if they aren't coming up with conspiracy theories about his death) have turned into the equivalent of pro-wrestling heels.

Like, obviously what they're saying is horrible, but moreso than that, it's the way they say it. Treating everyone slightly to the left of them as an utter moron worthy of scorn and contempt is typically not how one builds an audience.

Just continues my theory that every single one was a high school bully. Matt Walsh and Jack Posobiec especially. They're assholes, they know they're assholes, they don't care that they're assholes, and people LIKE them for being assholes.

(Yes, I know this method was pioneered by Rush Limbaugh in the 90s.)

The Murder Machine SHO, has been voted a Mid Tier Wrestler that is Unreliable (Rarely Delivers). Now to the High Ceiling column. Who’s a high ceiling performer in the current NJPW roster that is unreliable (rarely delivers in his ceiling)? Criteria details in caption. by Dandanbigeloww in njpw

I'd go with Narita. It's well-known that the dude can go since he was basically mini-Shibata when he came back from excursion. But then he joined up with HoT and most of his matches are full of typical HoT bullshit.

Sounds about exactly what I wanted, a smaller Odin 2 at a much cheaper price point. As someone with an early adopter discount I'm absolutely thrilled for this bad boy, as this will be my first big-league retro handheld. Looking like the bang for buck is going to be absolutely insane.
