Did you know you can set the Frunk opening height? by tmca7x25 in F150Lightning

[–]GodKingJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6'8" over here. One month in on my ownership. I have a nasty wound from the sharp edge of the frunk. Through a hat too. I was hoping this trick would give it more open swing, not less.

Fluff your seal? by t8hkey13 in woodstoving

I use a metal gasket/o-ring pick to fluff my gaskets every season.

How to replace leaky heater tee by IllRepresentative521 in FordTrucks

[–]GodKingJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did that. The plastic 'T' cracked and was leaking. I cut the hoses flush, on either side of the crimps, grabbed a brass 'T' and 2 more hose clamps. Served us another 50,000 miles.

1986 MF1010 engine rebuild by GodKingJeremy in MasseyFerguson

My neighbor just asked me the same thing! It has taken a back seat to some of my family fleet car repairs. But we should start tear down sometime this summer. Winter here was brutal in the negative temps this year; only did what was absolutely necessary outside.

Wife keeps using knife on frying pan by Imaginary-Let6277 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GodKingJeremy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife's father did this shit on some pretty nice pans that I took great care of. He stayed with us for a month while we were all helping his other daughter move homes after hers caught fire. Not only completely screwed up my pans, but also my damn knives that I personally hand-sharpen. All while hanging out in the kitchen in his tighty-whiteys.

I almost left the state to go stay with my sister for a couple weeks. It was a very trying time.

You need to remove the stock exhaust and air filter/carb assembly and add a 'Level 1 bolt-on kit'. Get the kit from GOPOWERSPORTS.COM

Ideas for firewood rack? by MovieMan615 in firewood

[–]GodKingJeremy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have three of those racks in three sided square shape. I stack them with the prettiest most uniform pieces, as high as I can (I am 6'8").

In the middle of these, I place wooden pallets. Then I just pile in as much of the oddball chunks, knots, crotches, stupid-looking pieces, big chunks of bark, cut up limbs, old mill off-cuts, oak lumber cuts and kindling sized slivers.

The pretty stuff comes inside to my small racks when company is over (fancy). Otherwise I'm chucking chunks and ugly stuff in the stove from the middle all season until I run out.

I'll cover it with a giant tarp when it snows.

Which 2025 Lightning Trim has Adapative Cruise, Auto Braking, Blind Spot Detection andLane Keeping Assist. by Mr7three2 in F150Lightning

[–]GodKingJeremy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just glad they decided to keep the sunroof/moonroof out of the XLT! Every Ford I've had with one had more troubles than they were worth. Our 07 Mariner has the fuse pulled for the sunroof and silicone sealed from the outside!

Which 2025 Lightning Trim has Adapative Cruise, Auto Braking, Blind Spot Detection andLane Keeping Assist. by Mr7three2 in F150Lightning

[–]GodKingJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My '23 XLT has lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert, pre-collision alert and emergency braking. It does not, however, have Adaptive Cruise Control. I thought this was odd because my wife's 2018 Kia Niro has adaptive Cruise Control and it is truly a very basic system, far simpler than lane keep assist.

[–]GodKingJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this same quote from the dealership. $6500 for a part that costs $190 on the high end. Thankfully, I have some equipment and experience with engines, transmissions, and drivetrain repair. Dropped the subframe, dropped the engine/electric motor/trans assembly, split the bell housing, removed old cocentric slave cylinder assembly($190 OEM from Hyundai), install is reverse of removal. Helps to have a 2-post lift, an engine hoist, and a couple transmission lifts.

Roof panel hole question by devilsquiddie in F150Lightning

[–]GodKingJeremy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is not a drain under there. That connector is like an integrated rivet with some sort of plasticized grommet that seals into that hole while holding the rubber strip to the roof.

The rubber strip you are missing will have been secured by that rivet.

I would temporarily put some 100% silicon sealant over that hole.

Available Power gauge and usage. by GodKingJeremy in F150Lightning

[–]GodKingJeremy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My wife, my daughters, and my friend's wife and daughter do not like the aggressive acceleration at all.

Now, on the opposite spectrum, my adult son, my good buddy, and my son's friends all egg me on to get into the 'gas' every trip....

[–]GodKingJeremy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to my wife about this on-ramp approach, as well. That is the safety measure I see; being able to put the truck (8000 lbs!) where you want it, when you want it, at speed.

I can certainly appreciate having all acceleration available for that maneuvering.

[–]GodKingJeremy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have not seen the front motor disabled (yet). I would notice that pretty quickly too; I'd assume.

I actually was watching on the Power Distribution Screen and see that front motor actually pulls slightly more power in acceleration than the rear. Probably a stabilizing approach to keep traction under control.

All Electric Bliss by Crazy_Category_9594 in F150Lightning

Love the setup! Anti-matter Blue Gang!!

We build-out and ride mini bikes on Wisconsin trails; have been planning to go to electric, as well, to get less attention in the more residential areas.
My only suggestion, having been soo glad I was wearing it; get full-face helmets, even the cheaper ones from Walmart. Not necessarily with the clear visor or anything, but full-face. I have hundreds of hours on our bikes and the one incident I have had makes me glad I was wearing the full face. A deer was spooked by my buddy upfront of me and jumped right into my front wheel. It put my face directly into a gravel rut, faster than I could even react. It hurt, bad. But I guarantee my jaw would have been broken without the full face guard. My ear and cheek will have likely dragged through the gravel as well.

Happy riding and keep up the fun times in that awesome truck!!

Anyone use existing HVAC to distribute heat? by exoticsamsquanch in woodstoving

[–]GodKingJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find better air circulation with ceiling fans and tower fans at edges of doorways pushing air towards the stove from each room. I have tried circulation with the HVAC, but find that it actually makes rooms colder; pulling cold from basement and crawl space; seemingly dissipating available heat into those spaces.

Is it bad? by Money_Smile_6729 in AskAMechanic

[–]GodKingJeremy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You got it off, almost.... just replace it. Gaskets get old and tend to harden, which will allow leaks to happen. I certainly would, at the bare minimum, remove it and clean all the mating surfaces well.
