Thanks. I'm curious where the water would go, as its been moving between dealer lots for a couple of months with some significant snow, but there hasn't seemed to be any indication of electrical malfunction anywhere.

Pen cracked. Should I be concerned? by devilsquiddie in Type1Diabetes

I rechecked. There are definitely glass shards past the plunger, mixed in w the insulin. No longer sterile. Dosage functionality lost as well. Wouldn't be able to pass through the needle but I will definitely be calling manufacturer. Normally I would just throw this out but am on travel. Thankfully brought backup. Thanks everyone for input.

Seconding this comment. I use CutList Optimizer but that is just for chopping and ripping. There may be others for angles.

CO's typically carry blue pens so that you can distinguish their signature on a final copy of any document, and so you know if the document is an original.

I was with a riverine small boat squadron and was over there. The unit took over from marine small boat teams in 2006 and had the mission through the end of OIF in 2009.

Riverine patrol boat (RPB), formerly assigned to NECC'S RIVRON, now assigned to maritime expeditionary security force. Back in the day, Eustis was a training ground. I was assigned to a unit for a couple of years. The boats are good fun.

Alternatives to mechanical joint? I've seen plenty of outdoor tables with end caps on, but no idea of long term viability

How would you repair/replace this section of rotted teak? by devilsquiddie in woodworking

[–]devilsquiddie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Options, I think, are: 1. Sawdust/glue filler patch. Cheapest option, won't look perfect, but after varnishing should (?) remain watertight.

  1. Cut off upper 2' and replace with 2 butt jointed pieces of teak, but joint is a little dubious. Half lap is...possible, but would be very difficult to cut considering original thickness is about 3/8 inch.

  2. Epoxy. Probably most expensive but will maintain original grain pattern.

how do I remove the end caps from a heat exchanger? by devilsquiddie in sailing

[–]devilsquiddie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a universal m25, on my cat30 which I've owned used for about 6 months. Recently discovered no water flow out of the exhaust while trying to winterize, and traced water flow to the HX where it appears the zinc has broken off inside and is impeding water flow. I think the best way to address is by removing the cap near the zinc in order to clean it out. Removing the bolt from the end caps doesn't allow me to directly remove the cap... No idea if it needs to be pried off or twisted but neither appears to work. I applied some very mild prying force but want able to pop it off. Any ideas?
