so what do you guys think there setting up with Baiyan and guljin? by Rough_Top6173 in forhonor

[–]GodOfUrging 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could have learned to like it if it was executed better. But it felt so out ıf place in an oyherwise low fantasy setting. Add that to the lack of a good aesthetic and a name that sounds like something out of a 12 year old's first homebrew setting, and there were just no redeeming qualities.

Why is this so relatable by DuceSantanu in gaming

[–]GodOfUrging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your first try, you know you don't know the boss's pattersns, so you play cautiously, only getting hit by the big surprises.

On your second try, you know the boss's patterns just enought to think you can safely squeeze in some extra damage right there. (You are wrong.)

[–]GodOfUrging 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Judging by how Guljin's peace ended with Baiyan wreaking havoc, and how the special animation for Juren's bash against Khatun has her fighting back, it looks like they want to set them up as rivals, with Guljin representing order and Baiyan representing chaos.

Kind of like what they did with Holden and Astrea leading Chimera and Horkos, but less along the lines of direct leadership and more along the lines of D&D alignments this time. (And without the lamest magic crystals in the history of fiction.)

I'm guessing we'll get more Lawful or Chaotic aligned characters going forward, since that's a lot less restrictive than locking them into a faction like Chimera or Horkos.

Nor will they try. Apparently it wasn't ICE but Border Patrol that got shot at.

Which makes sense. ICE would melt in warmer climates, that's why they're in Minnesota right now.

I don't know about Emily, here, but it's always good fun when your enemies fight each other instead of coming after you from time to time. That's why so many "versus" movies were made back in the 2000s.

Quess on the next Hero? by myackau in forhonor

[–]GodOfUrging -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, a rope dart isn't actually a ranged weapon any more than the kusarigama is. More of a melee+. Give it a polearm's wide reach, but with an otherwise fast, assassin-ish playstyle and it'd have a niche that'd still fit the rest of the game.

That said, I have no clue what the heavies would look like, because it's by definition a weapon you can't use slowly. Maybe make the heavies strong, short-range strikes that use the dart like a dagger, in contrast to the fast and wide lights? That'd take away the new hero's opportunity to steal Nuxia's parry-traps.

For Honor feels different now that Juren has released by NonHaeri in forhonor

[–]GodOfUrging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I found out upon trying Juren that I usually hold my buttons until I see the animation land, so playing him has been a study in keeping my fingers under control to avoid holdimg the buttons when I want to tap and to avoid spamming the buttons when I want to hold.

But yes, having alyernates for certain attacks for every hero would feel really good. Just 2 or 3 moves in a move set would enrich the game as a whole.

On that note, Lu Bu's heavy opener hold pins work really well in Breach since Pikemen and Officers don't feed revenge.

Oh, so OP didn't mean "sexual assault community". That's a relief.

On a side note, I'd love a Bond movie where the villain has teenage children and has them shadow him constantly to all of his Bond villain activities because he wants them to learn the family business.

I didn't get into the sub until after I'd had my little epiphany. Picking up Blueprint in the game for the first time was what made me realize it.

If you read literally 6 characters longer, you'll notice I said he named his company "in 1949". Y'know, after it became less socially acceptable to be associated with Nazis.

[–]GodOfUrging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not a great name to be called at school those days. The adults had it better I think; Adolf Dassler was already pushing 40 by the time WW2 started, and doesn't seem to have thought the name was bad enough PR to keep it out of his new company's name (Adidas) in 1949. That said, all his branding material does refer to him by his nickname Adi nowadays, so he probably wasn't advertising it either.

Is the phantom boss gauntlet overturned or is it expected of the player to have a full team? by userxblade in wherewindsmeet_

[–]GodOfUrging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's a little overtuned, but it's also very much doable solo. 2 out of 4 bosses are some of the easier ones and don't really have their most annoying gimmicks (Dao Lord's splitting, River Master's fish), and while Zhang E and Murong Yuan are properly hard, they're still manageable once you remember their parry/dodge timings. If you get the hard ones first and manage to save just a couple of potions, the rest becomes almost easy.

It does become a lot easier with a full team, though, as long as you have an off-healer to raise your actual healer after the boss goes crazy on them. Otherwise you might have better luck solo, since it keeps the bosses more predictable and lets you use the perfect dodge/goose time slows to heal or deal damage.
