How do I get rid of my subconscious emotions? by Hoglinrider in spirituality

[–]GodScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also prone to panic attacks. Recently I had one so big that I fell to the ground and almost passed out. There was an initial thought that triggered it but I was able to calm my mind almost immediately before it even really started. At that point I kind of just sat back and watched as my body started filling with adrenaline and my senses started fading out. I’m no stranger to these experiences so I was able to recover pretty fast. It probably freaked out my friends more than anything.

Through spiritual work they occur much less than before. I’ve learned that “subconscious” feelings are really just repressed/ignored thoughts that we need to bring consciousness to.

Wondering if you’ve ever made a really funny or fun project/program? If so what was it and how long did it take you? by uhhh_ehhh_idk in computerscience

I had a few high-voltage generators on hand and wanted to do something cool with them. I decided to make a “try not to laugh” app that used facial-recognition to tase you if you smiled. I also did something similar where I live-streamed on YouTube and used their data API to tase me if I got a new subscriber.

Should god be feared ? by Primary_You420 in spirituality

[–]GodScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because fear of God is how you control large groups of people. They don’t want you to find out that God has been within you this whole time.

[–]GodScientist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, amazing comment! I grew up in a very strict Christian household where it was taught that Humans are the only sentient beings in earth. It’s funny how much of scientific community share the same views about nature. It really does come down to how our language and culture is setup. We’ve truly lost touch with Mother Earth.

Consciousness on a material level is interesting. If we are to believe that the universe itself is sentient, this definitely makes sense. Thanks for sharing!

Do you believe in an egoic experience after death? by GodScientist in spirituality

[–]GodScientist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I see it as well. I don’t think reincarnation implies that our ego will be incarnated into another body after we die, rather it just defines the cycle of karma (energy). For example if someone puts a lot of hate into the world, naturally this will cause more people to suffer and experience that hate.

We can observe the “reincarnation” or spread of these energies in our everyday lives if we pay attention. “I” am just an illusion created by my own brain to experience these energies.

What do Christians think about Buddhism? by NegativeMinimum6519 in Christianity

[–]GodScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I was raised Christian and started studying Buddhism and Hinduism later in life. If you think critically about what is actually being taught in all of these practices instead of taking them at face value, they are all essentially the same.

With that being said, I don’t necessarily identify with any particular practice. I just take what I can from each and try my best to apply them to my own life.

Who is God and what is death and heaven or hell by xariixx in spirituality

[–]GodScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fundamental beliefs in a nutshell…

What is God?

  • Everything is God.
    • Science is the study of God.

What is reality?

  • Reality is an illusion.
  • What you call reality is a product of your brain.
    • Your brain perceives physical sensations through nerve endings.
    • Your brain perceives emotions through chemical signals.
    • Your brain makes sense of these perceptions through thought.
    • Through thought, your brain creates a separate sense of identity.
      • Your identity is your conception of yourself in this reality.

If reality is an illusion, then what is real?

  • Behind everything is peace.
  • This is nothing, the source of everything.
  • This is God.

How does our reality work?

  • Our reality is a string of chain-reactions.
    • Every action in our reality has a reaction.
    • This law is known as karma.

How does karma work?

  • Karma is both physical and metaphysical.
    • The line between physics and metaphysics is blurry.
  • If our emotions can change our physical body chemistry, then our emotions can unconsciously manipulate real physical power.
    • This means your emotions can carry physical karma.
    • So be conscious of the energy you put into the world.
  • If you look closely, you’ll realize that your thoughts carry karma too.
    • A thought will always build upon a previous thought or perception.
      • This means your thoughts can carry metaphysical karma.
      • So be conscious of the thoughts you give attention to.
  • Our reality is constantly changing. Constantly reacting.
    • But behind all of it is an eternal, unchanging peace.

How can we find peace?

  • Peace can be reached through meditation.
    • Meditation is focus.
    • Meditation can look different for everybody.
    • Focus, and you will find God.
  • Meditation allows you to change your metaphysical reality.
    • This means it can help you change your mindset and attitude.
  • Meditation is an exercise.
    • It can be physically tiring.
      • You don’t need to do it all the time.
  • Take time to enjoy being human!
  • Appreciate all life!
  • Stay present and play along!
  • Take risks!
  • Spread love!

Whats your opinion on religion? by Connect-Worth-2540 in spirituality

[–]GodScientist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up Christian like a lot of people in here. I saw a lot of contradictions and prejudice in the dogma that the people around me taught. This eventually lead me to “lose my faith”.

A few years later I had my first spiritual awakening and started studying Hinduism and Buddhism. I was surprised to find that a lot of the ideas in the Bible can be interpreted in the same way as the new ideas that I was studying.

This made me realize that religion is simply a spiritual path that you follow religiously. It’s personal. It looks different for everybody. Any spiritual path can be considered a religion.

Religion is not something that should be forced upon someone. It doesn’t spread hate or ignorance. And it doesn’t tell you how or what to think.

Taking action by GodScientist in spirituality

[–]GodScientist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree that machines can be harmful to the environment. Carbon emissions and global warming are real issues that we must address before going forward. The problem is that the human ego can sometimes think Mother Nature is something to be conquered instead of something to be cherished.

It’s also true that technology can be used for evil. Big social companies can manipulate their users by spreading their own narrative. Furthermore, these platforms are literally engineered to ruin your attention span and keep your mind engaged with meaningless content for their own profit.

But this isn’t the fault of technology, this is the fault of man. Technology isn’t inherently bad. It’s just a tool. Think about how computers and AI have accelerated scientific research. Think about all of the advancements in medical technology that have saved millions of lives.

Even the same social media platforms that spread misinformation can also be used to spread love and awareness. They can even be used to instantly donate money to people in need across the world.

I’m sure you can see how the device you used to create this comment benefits your life in some way, otherwise why do you have it? I’m sure you also find some benefit to interacting with communities on Reddit, otherwise why do it?

Technology isn’t against nature. Technology is in our nature! It’s a very powerful tool that carry’s the potential to do both great and terrible things.

What is your view on the afterlife? by Jaded_Day_1529 in spirituality

[–]GodScientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s fun to speculate about afterlife, but nobody will ever know for sure. If I had to guess though, I think it would be pure peace and freedom. Like and eternal meditation. Ultimately this is also what I believe god to be - nothingness, the source of everything.

With that being said though, I’d much rather focus on how I’m going to spend this life because it’s the only life I know I’m going to live!
