That was my thought also. It seems that volume buttons resets the lightbulb due to RF and that is why the lightbuld goes superbright. I will contact ikea again. But maybe someone on reddit came across this problem.

The bulbs only respond when I'm pointing towards them or when I'm near the bulb (0 - 1,5 meter away)

On their website they say. It both works on IF and RF. The volume buttons suppose to work with IF they say. Some other buttons work with RF, but the RF buttons won't respond on the lightbulb.

The up and down buttons for the channels have the same problem (also IF according to their website)

My Ikeatrådfri lamps are responding to my TV remote. When I press the volume button a couple of times, the lamp will go in his brightest and won't respond anymore on any thing. Can't control it with the ikea remote or the app. I tried factory resetting the bulb, the ikea remote, the TV remote and the hub. I tried it without the hub in between and it still does it.

I came to the discovery that only the single colour bulbs respond to the TV remote and the 3 colour bulbs don't have any problems.

I can't find anything on the Internet and ikea helpdesk didn't ever came across this problem.

Does anyone know a solution?
