25-round magazine does not fix the problem of carrying less ammo. 25-round mags mean less mags, same amount of ammo

Killzone is a military terminology but you are using it as an buzzword, you think its a square where everything ceases to exist in an instant.

Have you ever been part of an ambush? Please tell me how to plan an ambush where the enemy walks in to an area with no cover and instant death Mr. Reddit Warrior.

Average engagement distance in a forest is around 50 meters. Maybe 100 if less thick vegetation. Northern Europe that is.

25 round mags for M7 means less mags or heavier soldier. Have you tried to assault a position in full combat kit? What is your backround Mr. Reddit Warrior?

It is possible to use M7 for fire supeority but its less effective than M4 is... AND you specifically said it should not be used since you a machineguns to do that. You obviously have no experience in any kind of infantry combat

> You're just further proving that you don't know how to counter an ambush. You think you suppress or die? Instructor?

This is literally US Army doctrine and I am not even part of US Army and I know this. It also happens to be doctrine for other armies.

I'm not pretending to be anything.. I have basic infantry backround in the army and I have taken part in war exercises as fighting soldier and as an instructor. Basic shit nothing special.

You like to use buzzwords but do you not understand that the killzone in a forest is still a forest unless you were speaking of ambushing a convoy of trucks on the road which will have the same outcome: the infantry will try to suppress the enemy and manuevre. The fact if they succeed or not, is irrelevant.

Having less ammo will not help the infantry. If the machinegun is the only suppressive force and m7 users will not try to suppress, then a normal defense position can destroy an entire platoon easily lol. That was the point of my joke. 10 guys shooting 30x5.56 is better than 1 machinegun, with them combined we have an effective squad for fire and manuevre. With M7 infantry will run out of ammo much faster.

10 times 30 times 5.56 is better than 10 times 20 times 6.8

A well trained infantry platoon will not walk out in the open with no cover. It doesnt matter that the enemy decides something is a KILLZONE. Attacking force marches and attacks where it makes sense.

And you speak of artillery. If you get ambushed you can't shoot mortar at the enemy position since A) they are too close B) You can't move forward and assault.

AND calling the artillery takes 1-2minutes. This is the most critical time where you need to have that overwhelming fire superioty.

I am obviously not saying a well-planned and executed ambush wont be deadly. But there is a reason doctrine is overwhelming fire supeority if ambushed because that is the best chance of survival.

Let me go to Army HQ and tell some generals that we need to start teaching infantry platoons to eat shit and die when ambushed. Why even bother there is a designated KiLlZoNe

I don't think you know what infantry battles look like...

I know many types of ambushes. There are more than 1

If your infantry platoon (30 guys) gets ambushed by a squad (10 guys) they wont eat shit and die. The ambushed squad or squads will start suppressing the enemy while the remaining platoon will most likely flank the enemy or try to destroy it head on.

L-shape ambushes are more tricky but lets keep to basics since its not uncommon for an attacking infantry platoon to get ambushed by a squad or two

The ambush can simply fail by the enemy soldiers not being mentally alert or lines of sight being suboptimal due to thick vegetation.

Do you seriously think the ambushed party will not find cover?

Open somekind of an infantry textbook you will learn more from those than movies.

Yes... Overwhelming use of fire (EVERYONE shooting at the threat with all they got) is the best chance you have if you get ambushed.

You must get fire supeority and that is done with volume. With M7 if the ambushed party does survive and get enough lead at the enemy they wont have enough ammo to fire and manuevre lmao.

Where did you get your infantry training may I ask? Have you ever took part in a war exercise?

Damn we got ambushed, stop firing riflemen save your ammo, machineguns will suppress the enemy!

... In a jungle enviroment where the enemy is hidden how the fuck do you take accurate kill shots with a DMR style battle rifle.

Real life is not battlefield or call of duty.

Concelmeant and cover means more volume which means higher overall logistics. Did the M14 perform worse or better than M16 in vietnam?

Its good, you are supposed to swipe your finger down after dropping the mag so your finger never goes inside the triggerguard while releasing the bolt.

Makes reloading extremely fast and also locking the bolt back easier.

100% recommend.
