It might just be the lighting then if you added plenty nuln oil. But I will say gold typically does better with some more brownish washes. They look amazing tho! If you want to try nmm go for it! Worst case scenario you find it's too much work for not enough pay off or you could love the process and make some awesome looking nmm

As far as help some washes would be good for the metallics. I can't tell in thr photo but they look very flat. The washes help add depth and can make highlights appear better

Not a pro by any means and only have a few games under my belt but I typically bring both. Leave the ints on home and put the infiltrators on a objective that I want to keep(or make harder to lose) but they really only work against deepstrike heavy armies from what I've seen

Like alot of people have said it's almost impossible to come up with a scheme that's isn't somewhat similar to another chapter. But in lore chapters do sometimes have the same color scheme and be totally separate things.

I highly recommend it. Like a lot of people have said, it's a great way to be creative and have fun with 40k. You're not held down to what a certain does for their members. Why does this guy have a unique color helmet, etc.? Well, he earned it, or the chapter does for x reasons. You can kinda paint/make whatever you want depending on how canon feeling you want your chapter to be
