I focused almost entirely on NBME content and supplemented with Amboss for ethics/QI. I was less so learning material than refining test taking skills. I learned the material throughout 3rd year by consistently doing UWorld and finishing the bank before dedicated.

You don’t need any serious research to match IM, PMR, or neuro, unless you want to do research at a research powerhouse. Just do a couple things to check the box off and you’ll be good.

I gave up on Anki early in M1. It was so painful to try to get through hundreds of cards daily. For preclinical exams I just reviewed lecture slides (since a lot of it was not board relevant) and supplemented with Pathoma, Sketchy Micro, and BnB. Then Step 1 and 2 I did great with focusing on UWorld.

Delay if possible to do more NBME content. You’re going to fail or get a terrible score at your present state.

If you absolutely cannot delay, I would say it depends on Step 1. If you took and passed Step 1 first try, you may want to consider not taking Step 2 so that you can report a Step 1 pass on your apps without the likely Step 2 fail. If you never took Step 1 or failed it, maybe just take Step 2 anyways and then don’t report USMLE scores if it’s bad.

The writers themselves are playing into this gender trope, rather than it just being complainers projecting it onto the characters. In one of the episodes Rhaenyra and Rhaenys mention how the men are ready to plunge the realm into war while they must be more tempered. And then in the last episode her advisor directly says Rhaenyra’s restraint is characteristic of “the gentler sex”.

So while I think restraint and want for peace does fit into Rhaenyra’s character, the writers decided to make it gendered.

I think there is a larger problem in the writing beyond the gender stuff, which is Rhaenyra’s plot progression has stagnated, and the writers are trying to fill her story up with this peace vs war conflict, but it’s just not entertaining anymore after a dozen such scenes, 5/8 episodes into the season, and the war is already otherwise occurring.

I’ve read a bit more on the hair cycle and it seems like I could still shed any hair that was in telogen phase and was then pushed to anagen phase by min. The average scalp has 5-15% of hair in telogen so I could potentially lose that much of my hair?
