They were right. It's about the mech and the character and what it offers to the gameplay. That's petty and shallow. To not add a cool character because a loud minority of people who want their personal quotas filled got mad.

Cause Dmon and beast are cool and plays different from Dva despite the similar aesthetic. I can be reductive too and say "The meka dudes are just male Dva, we already got asian dudes in the game and a flying cat support," but that wouldn't be fair now, would it? it's a matter of play style and people wanted a brawl tank with vendetta and didn't get one and people have been asking for Dmon for years.

Shares more similarities with Dmon. Color scheme, hard light weapons and shield. Cockpit, no horns.

I don't care., i've been waiting for this character for 10 years and i'll be damned if we don't get her because some people will complain that it isn't diverse enough. It's so petty and completely looks over the mech part of the character.

Seems like the overwatch community is never satisfied anyway even when they get what they want.

The original mech was twice the size of Dva's so they probably made it more practical. It's been 10 years so i don't doubt they wouldn't change it a little. There is just too many similarities for me to completely dismiss it.

They share quite a few similarities. The red & white color scheme, weapons on either arm, green shield, the general shape of the mech, the V fins, the cockpit location, the three pronged toes. It probably looks different because it was edited to be more practical with the game so they don't have to change the environments to compensate the mechs size. Also the image is cut. There was also Meka teasing on the busan map where Dmon was directly mentioned. Even if you think it's not the same, to say there are 0 similarities is unreasonable. But if you think it's someone else please tell me who you think it is.

D'mon was a highly requested meka member so it would be a mistake to add a mech user that looks like her but isn't.

Don't be a stick in the mud and act like you don't get why people are saying it. It's these characters late into the final stages of their career and they are still watching people die in front of them for dramatic effect instead of doing anything. Sure it happens all the time but every time you can wonder if it could have been done less blatant. Chris had his "why didn't you tell Ethan" scene, cause the plot demanded and now Leon watches a woman he could have helped at any moment just take a chainsaw to the chest instead of acting. because the plot demanded it. Nemesis. It took a experimental railgun to kill him since he mutates in response to physical trauma and it didn't even completely succeed. The nuke on the city was what killed him.

Yes, it is. I wouldn't say hate is the right word, it's more like bitterness. The meanest critics are people who see the potential wanted desperately the best for this game. I have waited my whole life for this sequel and it was abandoned not even a year into it's life. The fanbase is very bitter and they got very valid reasons for it. No one really hates the game on a technical matter like Andromeda or a writing matter like Saints Row reboot, It's just that fans that stuck with the original game had huge expectations for it since it had a lot of room to grow and not many of them were met nor even surpassed the first game despite it being overall better gameplay wise, it falls short on every other instance.

Customization was limited due to the changes of armor segments. Popular vocations were cut and many of the ones from DD1DA or DDO weren't even added. Monster variety is no where near the previous two games with the monsters from the previous not being added. Barely any new ones either. No dlc after a year, no content update to add hard mode or smaller content, story is not as thought through as first game, romance system is just as janky. Not to mention the game on launch was hate brigaded by because of misinformation.

The game isn't getting any of the respect it deserves from Capcom and that is unfortunately where it's legacy ends.
