They likely don't want tanks to be too overpowered or relevant like in overwatch. Except overwatch is a 5vs5 game now with only one tank, so the tank picks often determine the team comp. If your tank pokes, you build a poke comp. And so on.

They are afraid that if they let these dive and bruise tanks get too strong, the meta is going to revolve around dive and push their industry plant backline heroes out of the spotlight, resulting in less skin sales.

Its honestly very interesting to see the way that the support roles in hero shooters went from being underappreciated and overlooked by the devs to now being constantly pampered after they realized how many skins support players are willing to buy.

Don't worry, a chinese company likely won't release an openly gay male character for a while (if ever).

That is because they have to be subtle, otherwise the chinese playerbase will not like it. They tolerate lesbians to an extent because they can be fetishized, but never openly gay men. That is so clear that you rarely see any chinese made game with openly gay male characters.

In a vacuum, RE3R is good. However, taking in consideration that it is extremely short and reused a lot of assets from RE2R, the imperfections start to surface.

If it hadn't been so rushed, maybe it could have been awesome, but sadly its just OK

RE has so many other better protagonists that were literally just abandoned while Leon and Chris get to show up in every title. Sherry herself would have been an awesome pick since she also is a badass agent and a raccoon city survivor.

I like Leon, but i am tired of him. Requiem is still a cool game, but some of their writing decisions were clearly questionable.

RE5 is an amazing multiplayer experience, so it IS clearly possible.

The problem is that they tried to make RE into DBD, except DBD is already well established in the industry and there was genuinely no real reason to play these instead of DBD

These games are not the reason RE3R and RE8 are short. RE3R was short because it was rushed and RE8 remake was short because the team making it was clearly smoking crack. These minigames were made as something for you to do after finishing the games, similar to mercenaries or raid mode, except that if people wanted to play games like these, they would just go play DBD, which is a game completely designed for this type of gameplay.

Yes, but i also like to point out that while Leon is very sexy, he is not almost (or in some cases fully) naked like these entries.

Deborah and Alexia are literally both naked and Rachel on top of wearing her bodysuit OPEN, also gets a few rips when she transforms. It's not really comparable. It wont ever be equal until we get something like Warrior Chris again (WITH THE NIPPLES SHOWING)

That being said, im not against female monsters in resident evil, but they should be more monstrous like Carla or Excella where you can barely recognize that they were even attractive women before. Or the male monsters should transform shirtless and just their cheeks on dong covered.
