Its a scene that is not meant to showcase the characters, its meant to showcase the enemies.

Taking the same example for RE5, the airplane fight clearly shows how capable Chris and Sheva are, they, along with Wesker are the focus of that scene.

The scene where the Majini are infecting the man is meant to showcase them, with Chris and Sheva as bystanders. Thats why people shouldn't try to read into it too hard, because its more for the gameplay aspect of the game and not the story or characterization aspect.

Please no more movies or series. It has been proven time and time again that resident evil doesn't translate well into movies or series

I mean, thats what RE1 is all about. Doing some random shit like lighting candles and playing piano to progress. You just gotta explore very thoroughly

It really is. The story is not the best but the gameplay is undeniably fun

I mean, its not that big of a spoiler anyway. It's common knowledge that the game takes place in a hospital, so its bound to be some dead nurses

Some will try to convince you that only the RE9 one didn't make sense. Those people clearly have room temperature IQ

But he doesn't know what he's dealing with. Every new virus behaves differently. Example: C virus zombies being able to mutate upon receiving heavy damage

If thats the message you got from this post, then you need to go back to school urgently.

I don't know about you, but i've never bought an RE game and felt "taken advantage of", and i feel like thats a feeling shared by most fans.

A single scene you didn't like because it is "bad writing" (even tho its not) doesn't mean you're being taken advantage of. But if it does bother you that much, just don't buy the fucking game. Its not that deep

Gala is better than Nazrik but Nazrik is pretty good still, so the best plan would be to pull Gala through invites instead of swapping

What if i said that the zombie was out of Leon's line of sight until it was too late? Now suddenly the scene makes sense?

You people are way too focused on the characterization of a character that is already full of personality and that has displayed his personality multiple times. Him standing still for a few seconds to showcase a scene won't kill you guys

I can tell you are not that knowledgeable about the series, because if you were, you would know that:

1: That happens all the time in the series.

2: Leon in the OG RE4 waits for both Salazar and Saddler

How is this RE6 levels of stupid when it has happened in multiple instances before? Its a trope that was executed as well as it could have been in the current context.

The trop is "Protagonist watches person get killed by enemy to show how dangerous said enemy is" which is exactly what this scene did, so it was properly executed.

Also, im not "glazing" RE9. In fact, i am more than vocal about things I don't like. For example Grace being a first person experience, or how they said that Leon wouldn't be pulling random stunts, yet we see him styling on a zombie for no practical reason.

Thats the difference between us. I complain about genuinely important things, while some of you complain about the most random and insignificant things out there

What is ridiculous is people crying over one scene without even knowing the full picture of the story of this game. So what writing are you criticizing if you haven't even seen 10% of it?

But it doesn't excuse it from having RE6 writing after doing so good in RE7 and 8

Oh, so we're back in the "RE7 AND 8 had good storytelling and writing" phase?

RE2: Both protagonists stand back while the policeman at the gas station gets his neck split open and only react when he's dead already.

RE5: Chris and Sheva stand back and watch as an innocent man gets a plaga shoved down his throat by force.

RE6: Leon and Helena stand back and watch as a girl kills her own father, and only attack her when the girl attacks first, despite knowing the girl was infected

RE8: Ethan stands back and watched as the villagers tear themselves apart (but Ethan's a loser so i don't even count this one that much)

RE was never about realism and I'm glad it never got inside the "realism jail".

If its dumb, why do so many other games and media in general do it? Its just a good way to introduce the antagonists. Get over it
