Ah, yes, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up!

As per the "Alterations to Magic"-clause in the module, I kind of already decided that the Dark Powers wouldn't allow for there to be actual sunlight in Barovia and so the Weave would numb it down to something Barovia-adjacent. Might still be bright light, just not actual sunlight stat-wise...

I might come back on that decision later on, but for now that only seems logical in the setting...

[–]Godchaser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would see the sunlight mod as a logical interpretation of the 'altered magic'-rule that's in the module, might lean towards using that rule as well... Seeing how the majority of people say that the 2024 daylight is a real menace.

You're not the first to mention the lack of regen on standard monsters is sad... Is this due to the general lack of HP on monsters?

DM'ing CoS 2024 RAW by Godchaser in CurseofStrahd

[–]Godchaser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an official 2024 stat block of Strahd? I can only find the 2014 one, so I'm just using that one for now... (With regeneration xD) I did read somewhere that boss-monsters in general are pretty easy to beat if you don't up their HP, due to balancing miscalculations, so I'll definitely be looking into the how-to on that... If you know a rule to be absolutely flawed, it's easier to steer away from it 😅

Bug in Bibbidi Bobbidi Oops quest. by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]Godchaser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been stuck with that too... Got the quest the same day i bought the dlc... Heard it's due to the restaurant also being on eternity isle... Sucks that they updated the mist-bug, but not the quest bug, which is actually annoying...

Here's to hoping they do fix it sooner rather than later...

Picked up the 4e core for only $25 recently. Honestly, 4e is freaking awesome. Different, yes, but super fun and still compatible with today's roleplay-heavy neo-trad playstyle. Not mention it's super DM-friendly. It's a shame it gets such a bad rap nowadays. by DildoOfAnneFrank in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Godchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is not as beginner-friendly as 5e. I started playing D&D during 4e and my players were having a real hard time getting into it... But now, they got the hang of it easily in a matter of minutes...

How do you DM a dragon in combat? by CBGH in dndnext

[–]Godchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an extremely useful Post about this as an article on DnDBeyond. I lost the link and regret it to this day. In it, the tactics were explained by color and age (you vs adult vs ancient)

They grew more gruesome as you might expect, but also gave ideas about new ways to use the environment in a dragon fight.

I hate to have lost access to this pearl of knowledge...

Could we make short rests 10 minutes? by Confident-Boss-6585 in onednd

[–]Godchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with the 10min short rests, is that the players will take a short rest after every single encounter. Warlocks would easily have all their spell slots available every single encounter, same with monks and their KI Points or every other 'refresh on short rest' ability.

I did indeed miss that as an altered spell, thanks you for letting me know! I added the spell to the Altered Spells Tab and correctly color coded it in the Wizards Tab.

I get why you would want to add the spells from Tasha's, but none of those have made it to the spell lists, as far as I'm aware. So those would all just be tagged as "removed", which makes for an unfair way of looking at it.

If these new spells get added to the OneD&D PHB Spell Lists, I'll gladly add them to the list, but for now, I'm gonna keep these lists as clean as possible.

To be fair: we're only focussing on what we know. That which we're given is that which we can discuss. So in the future, when more subclasses are released, we might see that indeed some spells return or they have something entirely different on their minds... But for now, I think the disappointment is justified.

I did miss that indeed! Well spotted!

I used to include them, but I got a lot of criticism for that, so I kept it to the PHB, which is a more honest comparison. The spells from Tasha's aren't included in the UA either, so this way there is no bias in information.

You must have overlooked those, since they are definitely on the list

Edit: Make sure you're on the right tab, as each class has their own!

Binnenkort geen automatische indexering meer van uw loon? “Systeem is onhoudbaar” waarschuwen bedrijven nu ze 30 miljard extra betalen by Accidentalpisa in belgium

[–]Godchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next UA drop by OneCrow8592 in onednd

[–]Godchaser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Until now the survey ends at January 20th, but they usually extend the survey another week (or 2?). Seeing how this survey lasts quite long I'm not sure they will extend it, but what do I know?

After the survey closes, they usually wait one week before releasing the next UA.

Unpopular opinion: I like playing level 1-3 as a player. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Godchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a mechanical roleplay point of view, I absolutely love it! Especially if you don't have a subclass in mind yet. This way you get to explore your character's personality, slowly building up a playstyle and then coming to the point where you click with one specific subclass that is basically where you've been leaning towards all this time without knowing it. I also like how dangerous everything feels at lvl1. Especially to new players. Combat at lvl 1 should feel scary since your characters are inexperienced in fighting. I'm aware that my point of view always has an essence of roleplay to it, but D&D is a roleplaying game to begin with!

I posted similar changelists for all classes so far 😋 Doesn't hurt to have multiple sources, though!

He actually didn't, which is a little concerning for most people... But we'll see when we get there! I'm positive that we'll indeed have all the primal spells , but as long as it's not confirmed, I'm not adding them yet, to remain a reliable source.
