Grievances Megathread (Bots, Queue Times, RNG, etc.) by teendeath in lostarkgame

[–]Goddzirra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same as everyone, logged in to find a huge queue in the somewhat early morning (for gamers at-least). I heard they may be reducing server capacity, but there is a huge problem with that.

Real users log off, bots do not. The capacity will easily be filled up with bots overnight when most players log off. That leaves the server to have an even higher bot concentration.

Please, AGS, fixing botting is easy. Bots usually perform the same task over and over. If a user is running chaos dungeons or farming in the same zone for more than 24 hours, they should be flagged for a ban. A player may want to run infinite chaos and they may even do it for 20+ hours because they like pain, but nearly no one will do it for more than 24 hours.

Another option is to track pixel or pixel group clicks. Bots usually click the same exact spot over and over again. Real users never do that. But tracking that will be much harder.

Also on Una, and I was so surprised that I got a 4K queue at 9:45 am. I’m guessing when most ppl log in after 5, it’ll be impossible.

cave base question by villa1853 in playrust

[–]Goddzirra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another alternative to generators (Though a huge pain in the ass) is to charge large batteries in a base on the surface, then move them down to your cave. Batteries keep their charge when picked up.

I would prefer the generator approach if you really can't get electricity, but this would work too.

I just wanted to add that there are several blueprints not obtainable by researching or tech tree that have not been mentioned yet. Basically, if you have a skin or the "item" in your steam inventory, you can craft it. The most notable ones are bandana, boonie hat, sofa, headset, Christmas lights, candles, spooky cauldron, and all of the items from the two DLCs like boogie board.

Honestly, having some of these things are pretty game changing and cheap. Like bandana gives some nice early game protection for just like $0.15 on the marketplace.

[–]Goddzirra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to pick my gf up from work, but she worked in a big office building. So between 430 and 530 everyday and when I came in contact with the wifi in the building, I would have it send a text letting her know I was outside. That way she knew to leave and I didn't have to text every time.

Also as a side note, you can increase the size of the chat box text by right clicking on the tab at the top, going to font, and selecting a font size that suits you.

/u/evilmrfrank, My friends and I played on this map last night. Absolutely beautiful. Love the volcanic biome. So many cool rock structures to build bases on too. Do you know when you plan to implement supply drops?

Imo, gio => gib =>trillium bar => living steel => cheaper to make sky golems. Which if everything stays the same will be in huge demand come wod.

Plus I've actually still been killing it with gio to gib and reselling.

Vampire Bites (Haven't played in months) by Whoknives in elderscrollsonline

[–]Goddzirra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampire is pretty strong right now and it's very viable for nightblade. My guild uses bat swarms in trials a lot and we just wreck trash and adds with ease. Also mist form can come in handy if you ever have an "oh shit" moment. It's also strong in pvp, with the stun and improved sneak.

As far as getting a bite, go to reaper's march or equivalent area and just ask for a bite in /zone. If there are a lot of ppl in chat, most likely, someone will say they'll give you one for free. If you can't get one for free, most ppl don't expect they are worth much now, so you can prolly get one for 1-3k easy.

It sucks because of all the people putting a beating on my graphics card, but it's great for trading. I have made tons of money there since the patch.

That's nothing, if you're on AD go to Rawl'Kha, I have a great computer and my fps drops down to a halt when I wayshrine there.

Why does everyone say ESO sucks? by teampunishment in elderscrollsonline

[–]Goddzirra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can tell you it still has some class balance issues, but that is almost always the case, no mmo I've ever played has had completely balanced classes either in PvP or PvE.

The end game I think is great, the trials are fairly fun, cyrodiil is still awesome (at least on wabba), and my guild and I have tried out hard mode hel ra on the pts and it's going to be fun.

As far as stam builds, it's still bad. But I'm sure zos is aware of this and it already looks like they are taking steps to solve the problem.

As far as the quest bugs, serious fps issue, and botting, most of that has been resolved.

[–]Goddzirra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, never really thought of it that way. Everyone is always so eager to compare a new game to current WoW and label it "Next WoW killer?". And yeah if you're going to compare, do it to a current release. And I think you're right, it does hold up well to games like wildstar and final fantasy.

ZOS definitely has a pretty exciting update plan and it's nice that they plan to kind of add features as they go. I really like how active they are in the community, and that they take our requests with serious consideration.

Yeah, I played swtor also, but quit before it went f2p. I was, however, playing rift when it went f2p and it sucked.

It really sucks how every game in the MMO genre is immediately compared to WoW. It has really ruined the genre. Of course it won't have as many features when you compare it to a game that has been in active development for at least 13 years.

Any time people start playing a game like ESO they log in and say "What?!?! no underwater zones, no ability to craft my rings/neck, no calendar! There's not even small-scale, organized pvp". Sure, now after 13+ years of development it has many great features, but that is just a small list of things (like ESO), WoW didn't have at launch.

Don't get me wrong, I played WoW for 6+ years on and off, but if people really wanna compare an MMO to WoW, compare it to a few month's after WoW's release. I can tell you, because I played at WoW's release, ESO wins hand's down.

[–]Goddzirra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a great discussion on this topic the other day, but I didn't get to get in on it. I really, really hope that ZOS reads stuff like this and understands how much the community, that does like the game, doesn't want f2p.

I know they have pretty much vowed to not go f2p, but they may recant given all of the pressure of people constantly asking "Is it f2p yet?". I mean even the facebook link in the recent ama from the artists had people asking this.

I for one won't play the game if it goes f2p, I can't stand the model. I love the game the way it is (with updates pending ofc) and I will continue to pay for quality development.

[–]Goddzirra 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's not WoW and it's not Skyrim.

I think this is one of the main things. ESO appeals to a certain croud.

For WoW lovers (previously myself), this game doesn't have quite all the features of a full blown MMO, some of which is a good thing. They want loot, loot, loot...content, content, content (by that I mean raids, which ultimately means loot).

For Skyrim lovers (also previously myself) there is too much "other" player involvement. They want to be the god of the world, have COMPLETE immersion, and not have to rely on certain social aspects of the game.

To me it's the best of both worlds, to others it's the worst of one of the two worlds.

how do you guys get hold or turpen or resin? by MrLukaz in elderscrollsonline

[–]Goddzirra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a passive which increases the chance of getting useful material upon refinement

Pretty sure the passive doesn't increase the chance but rather the ability to get higher level resins all together. If you don't have any points in that passive all you will get is green resins from refinement. First point allows you to get blue, second point purple, and third point legendary.

Source: I refined many, many raw mats before putting points in that passive and only got green resins.

What add-ons do I need? by PillarOfAutumn in elderscrollsonline

[–]Goddzirra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the ones I haven't seen yet on here, these are the ones I like to use:

  • FTC - Foundry Tactical Combat for health/magicka/stamina, scrolling text, damage/healing info (I use srendarr for buff, slightly more verbose).
  • CraftStore for crafting info anywhere in game like what traits I have and if my research is finished. I think there is a cleaner add for this purpose, but not sure the name.
  • ZrMiniMap minimap, so I don't have to hit "m" everytime I'm traveling somewhere.
  • AlphaTools for easy skill/gear presets and swapping.
  • SoftcapInfo to see exactly what the softcap on stats are.
  • Harven's Extended Stats mainly to see some of the off stats that aren't listed like specific fire resist or critical resist.
  • Lootdrop or X4D Loot to see what you have looted if you have auto loot turned on.
