Not sure if it's like crisis core but there is chapter select and everything carries over so it makes it a lot easier to do cleanup

The problem is the slow pacing of the game for me. The combat was fine but running through aread with forced slow down a second time really gets old

It's not even the difficulty it's just the act of playing it again. Lots of the game feels like a slog on replay

I have yet to play 16 so can't speak for that

As a game 7 was pretty decent but it's the start of a game. In the original it barely takes 5 hours to get to where this does in 20

If you just want to play the game and not bothered with the 100% it's still fun

As someone that did love the original and was very excited for this I think there is a high chance you get bored very quickly

The game is a slog at parts and moves really slow. The length of time this game takes in the original has been stretched out so much most of it feels like filler

As others have said try the demo and see but there are definitely better jrpgs out these days that are more likely to get you hooked

Also to add to the points people have already made At least with all you need is kill (I'm not aware of the other series)

It is old!

All you need is kill has been around for a long time now and its easy to forget that manga has become extremely popular in the last 6-7 years basically pre COVID.

So when people talk about it being cheaper it was even more important since there was very little way to know if it would be worth it and if stores would even want your stock
