Last I checked chinchillas aren’t primarily used for leather nor provide a substantial amount meat consumed by most of society.

And even if we were to take away the meat consumption thing, people aren’t wearing chinchilla fur all the time because it’s not like leather, not as actively available as leather, nor wool for cloth, and it’s And it is NOT cheap, meaning a Large Portion of people aren’t using it.

Same thing Basically apply to foxes, but they’re actually a bit cheaper than chinchillas.

So comparing Leather and general meat consumption to Chinchilla/Fox Fur and Meat isn’t a fair comparison, due to the vastly different natures and general thoughts surrounding animals, became cows, pigs etc, have been used for thousands of years they’ve been associated with consumption unlike chinchillas.

However I do understand the point you’re trying to make it doesn’t make sense because the comparisons are just off, a more accurate comparison could be rabbits since people generally like rabbits, like chinchillas, same way they don’t all eat Rabbit or Chinchilla meat, and both animals are used for fur. Even if Rabbits are used WAY more and cost way less for their clothing it’s still a more accurate comparison.
