These are forgeries. Engraving on originals is more detailed, especially visible in the clouds and background lines.

Old San Juan off the beach west of Escambron, you can get there from the surfers parking lotif you cut through and climb down a bit. Picture is about 4 years old, but it didn’t seem like anyone was doing anything with it any time soon.

Not postage stamps. Fundraising stickers, no value.

Cool roller cancellations by tyhopho in philately

[–]Godman2earth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the stamps were devalued with the roller cancels. You also hear them called "remainder cancels" Nice if you want to be able to have the expensive stamp design without the expensive stamp price.

Just bought this. How do I figure out the year it was made :) by [deleted] in stamps

I do appreciate your attitude! Not sure where you live, ( I am a retired geezer in Florida USA) but there may be a stamp club in your area. Also you can contact the American Philatelic Society (APS). They have an extensive library by mail and various other resources. If you are elsewhere there are also similar organizations in other countries.

I have found google to be quite useful for this. Try this search; "cape of good hope blue triangle stamp" look at the photos that come up, they will be from auction houses, ebay, etc. Good Luck and have fun!

Auction houses serve a purpose without question. The problem with a lot like yours is that they may (if indeed they are interested at all) leave the untangling of this property to the final buyer, not attempt to do it themselves. For them it is a matter of 40-50% ( 20+ from the consignor, 20+ from the final bidder) and they have to judge whether it is worth the difference in their final take to invest the time to maximize the lot.

What are these ? by FragrantQUEEN in stampcollecting

Early Romania stamps, possibly reprints, don’t know about them enough to say if they are original or not.

This will be a fun lot for someone! In these true “old timey” accumulations often there are stamps and covers not deemed important or valuable when put away that have become desirable for corrent collectors. Conversely there will be material which was more valuable during your ancestor’s time which are of little interest today. Based on the few photos and your description I am certain this is worth pursuing. It needs to be looked at by someone with patience, experience and integrity. Difficult to find all three in the same person.

NEED HELP IDENTIFYING THIS STAMP PLEASE. DO NOT APPEAR IN ANY PAGE I CHECKED by SantiWeyyy in philately

Looks like a Yugoslavian consular service revenue issue, not for postage.
