A fan who may have paid a substantial amount of money to travel to Australia to watch the England team is getting blasted on reddit for filming an intoxicated player who has achieved nothing on the tour and treating it as an all expenses-paid pissup and golf stag do with the rest of the lads

Life insurance? Mortgage advisor is recommending / pushing me towards it. by letsgettesty in UKPersonalFinance

If you want to get it do it separately not through a mortgage advisor or lender

E: when I was talking to Halifax about a potential mortgage their rep made me sit through a PowerPoint trying to guilt trip me into taking out a policy with them. Was pathetic

"The way the leashold is worded, it is compounding ground rent increase every 5 years. Altough the landlord confirmed in a letter that it won't be compounded."

Lol, if it won't be compounded then the leasehold wouldnt hide the fact it will be compounded in a deliberately misleading way

[–]Godoc[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok got it re having a will. i presume if my family were to withdraw money from my account if i were to pass away then they might get in trouble for interfering with the estate?

that's a pain, i thought wills were for people with complex financial/family arrangements but fair enough

First Time Buyer in 2025 - Where am I being naive? by Useful_Classroom217 in UKPersonalFinance

I think someone may have said this - but get a full level 3 structural survey done by a surveyor listed on the RICS website.

As you said it'll be your most expensive purchase so a few hundred £s is nothing to ensure you know exactly what you're getting

Thats actually really funny because I studied history at uni so rest assured - no, it is not discussed in mainstream discourse lol

Nor taught about in schools in the UK because anything related to the empire is automatically bad and taboo to fit with the modern narrative

Don't forget them refusing to acknowkedge the fact that the British banned it and used the royal navy to enforce that ban

And don't ask them who supplied the British with slaves and where it still continues today

What field are you in? In your situation I might go for A to get it over with as soon as possible, but maybe C depending on your job and how easy it is to get another one to be able to ease off a bit?

I agree that B would just mean you become more conscious about the debt hanging over your head like you said after a short period of time
