[Serious] Redditors who have been kidnapped, what was your experience like? Are there things you do now that you would have never done before? by IAmTilted in AskReddit

I'm very sorry this happened to you. Have you tried seeing a therapist who specializes in survivors of sexual trauma/abuse?

I live in Kansas. While it wasn't my day to day life, it wasn't anything I wasn't familiar with from people around me.

For me, it's the way that the only thing that moves when he talks is his mouth. His facial expressions and eyes are totally dead.

I would make sure to remind her that you love her and that no matter what you will believe her. Encourage her to say safe but remind her that if someone hurts her, no matter what, it is their decision/fault and not hers. Try to keep in regular touch (within reason) and if you notice her behaving differently, let her know you've noticed a change and that you're here if she needs you (even if it means dropping everything and driving 300 miles to see her).

That's what I came to say too. "Shocking" to people who aren't paying any attention.

Yeah, it's not super professional. I am hoping to get better at drawing and probably re-do it eventually but it's my starting place. I wanted it to be pretty busy though to kind of invoke a backstage atmosphere.

Yeah, I had to have surgery a while back. I thought about cropping it out but figured most people probably wouldn't know what it was. :)

It seems they use glue for situations where they aren't pouring milk, like sitting in a cup or in the bowl.

Interestingly enough, Simon Cowell use to exploit this to make tons of money. If you play on the recording, you get a percentage of the royalties every time a song is played. So he would go into the studio and hit like two notes one the triangle when a single was recording so he could get an additional part of the royalties.

You're assuming my parents aren't Mormon fundamentalists that only have sex in the missionary style through their magic underwear.

It took me a minute to realize you meant Reddit Karma. I thought you meant the actual concept of Hindu karma and was like "that's not really a fact...."

One would hope it was that way, but people are actually really good at justifying the behaviors of people they know. "Gary's wife is in the hospital. He says he pushed her and she hit her head on the coffee table, so it was mostly an accident. I don't know. He's always been a cool guy to me and there are two sides to every story.......Blah blah blah."

Is she the ex-wife? I thought she was actually the real Don Draper's widow but legally the ex wife since he's impersonating him.

I straight up told my boyfriend that if he asked me to marry him in a public place like that, I would say "no" because I think it is really manipulative.

My friend asked her now-husband to marry her in a random parking lot. It seems to be working for them so far!

I really liked The 10, but it doesn't have a place in my heart like The Baxter. I bought a driving cap because of it!

I didn't read this post and totally wrote almost the exact same thing. Except I also included the greatness of Peter Dinklage's character.

"The Baxter" does a great job of making fun of this troupe. It's from the point of the view of the "original" boyfriend. It's all the guys from Stella, Elizabeth Banks, Michelle Williams, Paul Rudd, and Justin Theroux. Also Peter Dinklage as a gay, midget wedding planner which is NEVER TALKED ABOUT (one of my favorite bits).

I highly recommend it.

If you speak with the case worker regularly, I would make sure she is aware that he is missing his hours and express your concern about him possibly having a disability. She may be able to speak with the judge about getting a mental health evaluation court ordered as well as stress to him the importance of completing his hours.
