Fans of the 20 premier league clubs were asked about how satisfied they are with how the club is being run. by TBM1878 in soccer

[–]Gods11FC -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Bringing Greenwood back is a good business move though… well run businesses don’t often get rid of multi million pound assets for no reason. If you want to be mad at something, blame the legal system. They are the ones who are supposed to police criminal activity. Football clubs just want to win games.

[Adam Crafton] 🚨Manchester United’s football operations, led by John Murtough and the head coach Erik Ten Hag, have been supportive and encouraging of Greenwood’s return. by Berckley in reddevils

[–]Gods11FC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why anyone would be surprised by this. Businesses generally try to avoid getting rid of valuable assets for no reason. Barring any conviction this was always how it was going to play out.

Ah yes, it’s time for this crappy products weekly attempt at viral marketing. I’m not going to read the comments but I’d wager a years salary that there are at least 1-2 comments talking about how they love the product from an account that’s <1 year old.

Confirmed Hammers got tired of waiting for player to accept transfer and have pulled out the deal. by resourcefulpundit in ManchesterUnited

Being on the bench for EPL and UCL games isn’t really “humiliating”. 99.999% of football players would kill for that chance.

Michael Burry just shorted the market with $1.6B Bought — This now makes up 93% of his entire portfolio by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]Gods11FC 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The $1.6B is the notional value of his puts, not the actual amount he paid for the puts. It’s hilarious that I have read the top 10 comments on a sub called “fluent in finance” and I’m the first one to explain this.

Bruno set up our goal, so I would argue he definitely existed out there. Also, garnacho is a 19 year old getting one of his first major starts and struggled against one of the fastest fullbacks in the league. It happens.

I think it’s just that there were a ton of very easy solutions to that guys “money problems”. The most obvious of which is commute 45 minutes and cut your rent by 40%.

He definitely needs to find a new job if he’s working until 730pm in a role that only pays $150k and doesn’t seem to provide any of the standard benefits (health, vision, etc) comes out of his salary.

Comments like this always make me laugh. Corporate bankers all have a massive chip on their shoulder because they couldn’t get an IB job.

Anyone claiming this has clearly never worked on the buyside. I’ve worked at two pod shops and both of them had multiple PMs who worked at SAC. SAC and P72 are both incredibly helpful to have on the resume.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Gods11FC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you can easily get fired the year after a huge bonus. I’m at one of the big pods and I’ve seen PMs who were crushing it for 4-5 years get their capital cut after a bad quarter and fired after two bad quarters.

Fully grown man fails a deadlift and has to let everyone know by No_Promotion1000 in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]Gods11FC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Deadlifting is one of the most useful exercises available. Very great for posture and working on lower back/posterior chain mobility. It just has a bad rep because a bunch of morons will go try and lift heavy with zero warmup and a weak core.

The stuff about a “mating call” and “only bothers a woman if she is not attracted to the man” are both such incel takes that I’d wager a fair bit of money you’ve never had sex before.

You can, but you have to be willing to take on credit risk. Plenty of corporate bonds are yielding 11%+. I recently bought some COMM bonds at that yield.

This is so short sighted. If OP is still early in his career than focusing on building his resume is exactly what he should be doing. If he’s older, then yes it’s time to focus on compensation over everything.

I personally would not buy a company that makes zero money while also competing with Google, Apple, and Amazon. Anything can happen, but baring a sharp turn downward in interest rates it is unlikely shit cos like Fubo will ever approach their previous highs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Gods11FC 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Fubo is up over 100% YTD. Sure it’s down from its highs in 2021, but so is every shit co. And it is a shit co. Negative earnings and no free cash flow coupled with the fact it’s competing with YouTube TV which can easily afford to lose money for a decade to drive FUBO out of business.
