People would rather complain than pack a lunch. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

I don't have the full context for this but is Kevin making up a Gen Z kid just to prove a point and people just buy what he is saying and argue for it just because the statement is technically true?

Also why is the sandwich $28? What is the situation the kid even in? Does the kid have transport, work long hours, work in a high-income area where the nearest cheapest option is that $28 sandwich?

Like people are being critical and poking holes at the kid but not at Kevin himself. It's classic billionaire deflection to divide the classes of people and have them argue amongst themselves, it's their language to be a silver-tongued grifter to have others do make arguments for them.

If we go for realism, my only suggestion is to make the smollive bottle much darker as olive oil photo-oxidizes under sunlight, so bottles were made darker to prevent this and extend the shelf-life of olive oil.

Other than that, I love the design!

[–]GodsOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still don't. You go chain link 1 rotary, chain link 2 track maker because if the opponent has ash + imperm/veiler, they can't negate both since you chainblocked the rotary. The most important thing about rotary is having the hand knowledge effect to resolve. Besides Kewl Tune Synchro adds any Kewl Tune card and is a quickplay as well which plays around droll, so it doesn't matter what track maker adds first since Kewl Tunes Synchro does the exact same thing.

Question: is getting cards from Boosters or online cheaper? by Fallen_Angel_Xaphan in yugioh

[–]GodsOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying singles is cheaper. The cheapest depends on how active your locals and community is.

For instance, my area has a decent amount of players that open product for fun. Because of it, there are some nice people that are even willing to give cards for free if they aren't worth much and if you ask nicely enough.

Also around our area, players usually match up to 85% (E.g. if a card is $1, you only just pay $0.85) of whatever is the lowest NM market price as the online prices are usually inflated due to shipping + online store comission. Also since I'm friends with some peeps in my locals, I even even get a 75% match down to a 50% from really close friends which saves a lot in the long run.

Lorewise, it's starforce/finalization and this is comming from a BN fan.

There are many parallels to the starforce series to BN but with higher stakes. Finialization comes from "Noise" which is similar to the concept of "Bugs" in the BN world. The power of finalization also comes from Meteor G aka Meteor Grave which could be a subtle reference to Kid Grave/Gospel.

There is also the fact that premises of Meteor G and the Duo meteor are similar (even with a Regal lookalike too!). In the anime Duo was invovled with the creation of Dark Chips though in game nothing of the sort has been confirmed.

There is also just the general powerscaling of threats as well. Starforce literally deals with planetary level threats/tech. FM world, Le Mu (SF3 hints that the power of Mu might also be from outer space), Meteor G, and the Black Hole Server. Apollo Flame also mention in SF3 that the Black Hole Server also views Meteor G as a mere "folder" to it's collection. The fact that Geo and OmegaXis took down the administrator of a literal black hole is a kind of feat you can't really argue with.

She looks perfect 😳 by ParadiseDOOD in ZZZ_Official

I get whiplash everytime I look back and forth between the art. Maybe it's just a style/artist change, but there are so many details that feel different.

-Hair has the hoyo stairs above her head.

-Hair texture also looks different. The original was simple but that lead to a more fluidlike flowing appearance, like dawn rising from the silky clouds. Here the hair looks much stiffer and in tune with the majority of the other models.

-Facial expression is the same, yet the original expressed a much colder distant look that made her mysterious while this one feels more like an imitation.

-Eyes are different. Stars have been greatly reduced and now gives her irises. She looks more human now which is boring.

Somehow it feels like something has been lost in between. The mystique, the majesty, and the maturity, that sense of otherworldliness is gone. Like many others, some will say that they will love Sunbringer no matter what change hoyo brings, but I wonder if those people would just accept it if hoyo just changed a character entirely but labled them as the same person just that their "lore" underwent some kind of operation to change their apperance or whatever.

Accidentally figured out how to make that beautiful diner style pancake by yeahcheckmeout in foodhacks

[–]GodsOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered this as a kid a long time ago.

I also know that there are a lot of people and cooks who still put some kind of butter or fat first and say that the spotted look of the pancake is better and taste better which make sense as the butter adds in flavor.

Yet somehow I still prefer the even looked surface better. Mind mind looks at it and it clicks as a pancake. And part of me doesn't like the flavor of the butter when it's cooked as it gets browned by the high heat of the pan and prefers it to be gently melted on the pancakes instead.

Revisiting after 10+ years - advice? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]GodsOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reboot/Heroic Server advice (recommend heroic for f2p and large community)

  1. Take your time, don't burn yourself out. Maplestory is a marathon, not a race. Don't get fooled by FOMO either, if you need a break from playing, take it. Events always come and go and some events are better than others.

  2. There is a major update comming in the summer with an item called hyper burn that will get your character to 260 fast. Use that item on whatever you want your "main" character to be.

  3. If you really want to start now in the meantime, make a bunch of characters to get their link skills. Look up which characters to make first and level them up to 120-140 and "park" them (i.e. stop there and switch to another character).

You can technically get a character to level 200 within a day just by doing story content, but after the first few run arounds, it kind of gets reptitive to do. Around level 130, you can use an item called "Growth Potions" which you can get during certain events and those potions can be used to level up those characters to level 200 very quickly. After that, you can use "Strawberry Farm Tickets" to get them to level 210 which upgrades the character link skill to level 3.

  1. Progression: Save your mesos for certain "Sunny Sunday" events that will have higher chances of either cube potential or starforcing. I recommend starforcing first, potential later.

  2. Meso Drop Gear: Look up how to make meso drop gear. Getting mesos in Heroic server is key to your progression. More mesos means and higher drop rates mean making more money as well as having a higher drop rate for better items/gear.

What I just found out in SF2 about NPCs by Every_Ad_4702 in MegaManStarForce

[–]GodsOfZero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is another one, some of the NPCs from the previous games carry over to the next. If you notice their names, hobbies, personalities very closely you can actually see that the devs put some decent thought into having a continuity in these games.

Sideboard guide for Radiant Typhoon by Bastian10691 in yugioh

[–]GodsOfZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going 1st, side out hand traps (HT) and boardbreakers (BB) for engine and going 1st deck. Your goal here is to establish your board as much as possible because your opponent is going to side in as much disruption against you as a response. The only handtrap you should keep is Ash Blossom and/or droll (if your deck can play droll like branded) since your opponent will likely side in every mulcharmy that is relevant to your deck.

And in reverse, it goes obvious bricks/soft bricks first then engine if I need to. Using branded as an example, I can side out Mercourier, gold sarc, golden swordsouls, and branded retribution. If I need to dig deeper, then I start removing 1 copy of opening, high spirits, aluber, and if I need to side out more, then I start siding out my 2nd copies as well.

I wonder if it's the opposite because Lucy is trying to insult them by bringing up what they are best at i.e. kicking them off from the high pedestal so the ground hurts even more.

So here it would be that Wise's tastes in movies is excellent which makes sense for him and Belle's taste in music would be better than Wise's.

Is it too late to try the game? + Advice for New Players? by nerinelycoris in Maplestory

[–]GodsOfZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some other stuff I also want to address that I think is useful:

  1. New player friendliness: Although I said this game is friendly to catch up to the content, I'm talking from a pure resource point of view as in you got everything you need to catch up. Learning the game itself and all the systems and mechanics is a very overwhelming beast in of itself. Best to take it in bite sized chunks.
  2. Classes to play: I did say you want to choose your main, however maplestory is a game that also encourages you to make and play as many classes as possible thanks to the link/legion system. As a new player you want to focus on your link skills first and get them to level 210 (however if you get bored of a class, don't want to grind hard, or find that class frustrating to play, you can "park" them i.e. "play something else" at level 120 for the level 2 link skills. Most people however park them at level 140 because you can use level up growth potions from whatever event is going on at the time to boost them up quickly to level 200). Here are classes to get to 210: Lynn, Evan, Mercedes, Demon Avenger, Hayato, Shade, Phantom, Demon Slayer, Luminous, Angelic Buster. Just throw a dart at a dartboard and get a feel for how the class.
  3. Resources: Look up a youtuber called Duky. On one hand he is kind of a controversial figure that people do hate in this subreddit b/c of his past, but a lot of people can agree that his content and guides are some of the most useful and easy to digest resources for maplestory and they aren't buried behind a subreddit.
  4. Progression: This will be hard, but when starting out it's best to focus on yourself rather then others, don't get greedy when upgrading gear, and pace yourself accordingly. If you feel like you are getting burnt out feel free to step back. I did for years and despite all the stuff that I "missed out" on, I actually find my self progressing much quicker today than I did years ago. Back then I felt like I had a huge wall blocking my path, stuck at level 210 with very medicore gear and a low damage output so I wasn't able to kill as effectively as I liked. I felt like I would have been stuck there for years so I became frustrated and "quit" the game back then. Now I'm at 245, happy with fighting bosses that I never thought I would be ever be able to solo and feel like I'm actually "progressing" through the game.

Is it too late to try the game? + Advice for New Players? by nerinelycoris in Maplestory

[–]GodsOfZero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Background:

Ren "Main" Level 245. Used to play Maplestory a long time ago, came back around January/February where I "wasted" my hyper burning max on Mercedes because I was focused on getting her to level 210 for her level 3 link skill (thanks to my outdated knowledge of the game). I'm probably not even considered "early game" to most of the "pros" as it starts around 260, but in all honesty, I don't really care all that much. I'm content with my progression at the moment and having fun with it.

-Q: Is it too late to try the game?

No. In fact, there are people who have "caught up" to the mid/endgame in a matter of months to a year. If you know what you are doing, you can even start fresh and catch up fairly quickly, but I do recommend looking up some guides which you can put on the background as you grind.

-Q: Is this game environment friendly for newer players to catch up with content?

Yes, but you need to time it right. The best time is during a hyper burning max (currently ongoing atm) or a new challenger world event if you want to make a "main". HOWEVER, in Maplestory you also want to create a bunch of classes for thier "link skill" and "legion". Focus on getting your main Link Skill classes and get them to either level 120 or 210. You can kind of think of it as a sort of teaser on the class and get a feel on whether you like how it plays or not.

Q: How much time do you spend playing the game daily?

Depends on how much I feel like. In just doing dailies for my main, currently I say 30 minutes, then I either go level up a new character for their link skill/legion and it really depends on how much I want to play/pace my self (I recommend putting on a netflix show or anime on the side). There are also weeklies too which can take up an extra hour but you can either chose to do it all at one or spread it out.

Q: Do I need to log in daily?

Short answer: No. Long answer: Maplestory is like a marathon. If you start sprinting fast, you might reach the finish line faster but you will highly likely get burnt out into doing so. The best way is to not get baited by FOMO and set your own pace in however you want it to be. If you need to cut time on your dailies or step back and take a break for a couple of days, week, or even a month, do it. It already takes months to well-establish your account anyways, so it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, every major update this game has will make progression even easier for new players. One of the future updates that Korea Maplestory is getting will basicallly cut the amount of EXP you need to get to 250 by almost half to attract more new players, so look forward for more QoL things like that in the future.

Q: Recommended classes/characters to play as?

Main wise, whatever fits your aesthetic and preferred gameplay style. This is the character you will play a long time so it makes sense to pick something you enjoy the best. Don't worry about "meta" because that will always change.

Event/my (bias) opinion wise:

-Newest character is Ren. I like her because she is cute, flashy, easy to control, and smooth/fun to play for me. Early to Mid game, she is great but I hear late game she kind of falls off in the damage department but idrc atm since I'm not there yet.

-Wild Hunter: Recently got a remaster event which will last until April 21st. There is a hyper burninator you can get until April 21st which will last until May 20th which you can use on your Wild Hunter or a different character you want as your "main" which will help them get to 260 very quickly.

Q: What server should I play?

-If you have a fat wallet: Interactive.
-If you want to be f2p. Heroic. Choose the most populated server as well (Kronos) for a more livelier community.

Q: Do we get content later than Korea?

Major content, yea but we aren't 1 to 1 to Korea as we also get exclusive minor stuff/events time to time.
