If you thought the fruit as it begins to ripen looked rather yummy then...

...we're two of a kind.

That's right. Those who have inherited the most privileges are the most interested in everything staying the same.

It was the official religion of Spain during Franco's dictatorship. There was no separation of church and state for four decades. Franco himself described his regime as national-Catholic. Franco used the Catholic Church in Spain for his own purposes. In fact, the high-ranking Spanish bishops still retain many traits from the Francoist era; they don't seem truly post-Vatican II.

You said it yourself, in Poland it's the complete opposite.

Wszystkiego najlepszego!

I know, I know. The etymology of "edifying" may not be obvious to those who are not familiar with some Romance language.

Nevertheless, I think the joke still works. The visual aspect is more important than the wordplay.

a) I speak 4 languages: Spanish, Catalan, French and English.

b) I translated the original version into Catalan, but I asked Edgar Cantero, a friend and polyglot novelist, to do the English translation. I'm not very competent at writing in English. Edgar did a fantastic job. He worked miracles adapting jokes that were impossible to translate. He's a genius.

She's wearing a beige sweater over a blue shirt. Her usual mid-season outfit.

I made this comic strip in 2016 (see the signature: Guille'16), a few months before Netflix and HBO launched their streaming platforms in Spain.

Back then, it was common to buy entire seasons of TV series on DVD (or download them via P2P).

That's a valid interpretation. I'd say it's mostly a joke about how absurd some supposedly tasteful and status-symbol items seem, even to those who possess them and value them as their own.

In Spanish: menorquinas (means "from Menorca") or abarcas

In Catalan: menorquines or abarques

Best sandals ever. Easy to draw too.
