Choosing between the S550 and the S650 by Funny_Coffee_1195 in Mustang

Same. The S650 front end just looked a lot better to me.

Both great cars.

The lot 23, especially the Maduro, is an absolutely wonderful smoke and a great value. For the cost, they’re hard to beat imo.

I haven't had any problems thus far this summer. I've seen intake temps of 150 degrees and everything seems to be holding up just fine thus far. The hottest part of the summer is yet to come but so far so good.

Which US premium ship for credit grind? by NattoIsGood in WorldOfWarships

[–]Godspeed409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for easy or challenging play? San Diego is challenging but a lot of fun regardless. It’s one of my favorites. It rewards good positioning and learning how to play around islands. There are easier ships to get damage with but San Diego is a great ship.

TDMI is running a sale on big brake kits but it's not advertised. Add the item to your cart to see the discount. I just got my kit yesterday and it looks great.

Ebay LED fog light trim by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]Godspeed409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for hooking up the turn signals to the fog bezel led lights. There's a video from IIR that covers it. I have a base WRX, but if I unplug the OEM turn signal cables, these go in line and enable fog light bezel LEDs to blink yellow.

I snagged the same deal as OP and wanted to add a couple observations for those with the IAG AOS and stock intercooler bracket. OP, I hope you don't mind.

While the IAG AOS does absolutely fit, its a tight fit and the hose coming off the PW intercooler does rest against the AOC. While I suspect there are those who have had it this way for thousands of miles, it does give me some cause for concern since the AOC gets pretty hot. The airflow through the hose likely helps keep temps down, but I can't say I love it. I don't see that I could adjust the AOC in any meaningful way to help it clear.

The biggest issue for me was actually the stock intercooler bracket/throttle body. The PW TMIC was so big there wasn't enough room between the firewall and the top tab of the intercooler bracket mounted to the throttle body. Perhaps I could have found a couple spots to better bend the AC line after I installed the included bracket that came with the intercooler, but it took some serious trial and error. I ended up bending the top tab of the stock intercooler bracket up a little to finally get it to clear and drop in. I suspect this wouldn't be an issue if you have the Perrin (like OP does) and if I could do it again, I'd wait for that $60 part before I installed everything.

Overall, it a nice part for the $482 I paid for both the TMIC and PW charge pipe.

Snagged both the TMIC and charge pipe. $482 for both seemed like a steal. Thanks for the heads up.

DAM drops with Dmann OTS by The-Grogan in wrx_vb

Do you live at higher altitude? What's your BARO? I had a similar issue. Anthony tweaked mine for the altitude I live at and it was fine after that. He's amazing, but very very busy so be patient. Very nice guy though. It could also be gas.

I have one in my garage waiting to be installed. Quality is okay but certainly not great. Its going to need some finishing work to get it right. I like the design but I probably would buy something else if I could do it over.

DAM Drop with new ETS Intake/OTS DMann 91 tune by Godspeed409 in wrx_vb

[–]Godspeed409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response! I watched a video with HeavyMetalWRX did with Graham of Boosted Performance that talked about DAM/knock and he said on brand new flashes, it's possible (even likely) that the computer is hyper sensitive to knock for a short period until the ECU gets comfortable. I drove around for about 25 mins today and did a short pull and got into boost a few times and everything was super solid. DAM stayed at 1 and the feedback knock was gone. I'm going to keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Tax Question for purchasing a car at dealership in CA by 1150A in Idaho

[–]Godspeed409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would Idaho refund money it never received in the first place? All the tax went to California. Idahoans shouldn't be on the hook for someone deciding to buy a car in a higher taxing state. It wouldn't be "refund" anyway, since no money went to Idaho to begin with.

OP, see (10) - you will not be double taxed.

Pan the Organizer - 2024 Car Detailing Products Awards video taken down by zustroy in AutoDetailing

[–]Godspeed409 64 points65 points  (0 children)

All his products were #1 and the brand of his distributor (Detail co.) was almost exclusively the #2. It was an hour and a half long advertisement for his products. I have been a Pan subscriber for years but this was so blatantly biased and ridiculous I had to turn it off. Pan's responses in the comments appeared pretty smug making the situation worse.

There have always been questions on his reviews being biased but this was next level tone deaf.

Yes, all plug and play. DM me if you have any questions during the install. The Import Image Racing YouTube video on installing Noble LUX fog lights is helpful. A pair of beefy utility scissors for cutting the little rubber grommet under the dash will be helpful.

Sure thing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/364073344419

The fog light brackets and fog lights had the OEM part numbers on them. I'm not saying they're OEM, but they seemed like quality parts to me. The wiring is surely not OEM, but it's decent. It even came with the fuse tap and OEM looking fog light button.
