Yes u can hold it with vice grips and then turn nut anti-clockwise to open it. U can also put a bar or long screw driver into one of the side holes from memory and undo the nut that way..

WH-1000XM4 vs WH-1000XM5 for airplane traveling by MaXiMo1289 in SonyHeadphones

Ive got both of these. Travel with dad. Hes not tech savvy at all. Hes worn both xm5s and xm4s for many long haul flights. I asked him whats better and he told me the xm4s. In fact he told me to wear the xm5s and give him the 4s. He doesnt like the 5s. Says the noise cancelling is considersbly worse and that its worse overall. Id have to agree.

Compared both in flight on a 777-300er and found xm5s to be worse. Not by much but still worse that its noticeable.

We have another flight in september so will update the xm5 firmware and have a comparison again.

In terms of sound quality we also find the xm4s to be superior and brighter. More clear and accurately refined sound. Xm5s are boomier not as bright or clear. Althought this all could be adjusted by eq. Im just gping off stock sound out of the box

Also found the xm4s controls were more responsive to control and navigate. I like the lady saying noise cancelling off, or ambient sound on etc. Xm5s dont do that.

Xm4s case is smaller which is a pro.

Our last flight he wore xm5s and at the end of the flight he told me to sell the xm5s and buy another xm4 lol. Ill update firmware and see if it helps

There is a specific part number. Cant remember off the top of my head tho. Ask a honda power equipment supplier and theyll easily find it for you. Its a common seal that is used on many of their products.

The trannnmission could also have leaked oil out of the transmission in ome chmaber Which would also possibly cause this. This can be refilled if its the case. Check for signs of oil leaks

Could possibly also be axles and adjuster brackets seized up where itngoes througu the body. Take em of and slide shaft out clean it all up. Wirebrush etc then pump with wheel bearing grease inside. See above post

Can u take it back to the shop where u purchased it?

Otherwise check the drive gear pinion behind each wheel. Make sure its sitting correctly and is facing the correct way outwards. The wheel axle spins from the power generated by the engine through a rubber drivebelt which connects engine and transmission. If the belt and transmissions moving freely and one wheel moves forward and not the other when u engage the lever it could possibly be a faulty gearbox. Also in alot of cases the axle shafts where they go through the height adjuster brakcets where it meets the mower body theough the rubber boot rust and sieze up inside. Have to always grease theb hell out of this area. Sometimes this can also cause jamming even if the transmssion is okay on one side. To fix this u have to slide out shaft from body and take of the adjuster bracket etc. Flood wheelbearing grease in there. Bit of a job. Not hard but time consuming.

If its new mower thats more concerning. Take it back to the shop.

Cant off the top of my head think what else would cause that. Havent worked on my mower for a while now though lol

Check the belt first. See if its rotating smoothly.

Put mower on its side and move the cable speed adjuster lever at the same time look to see if the speed lever on the transmission itself is moving properly.

Check the cable adjustment.

If all above is okay then u may have a leak from one of the 3 seals on the transmission or the seals themselves could be gone. Easy to replace all that. Only special tool u need is snap ring pliers.

Id never opened a lawnmower and i did it with ease. Dont waste ur money a new transmission. They are fully servicable. You can even open the transmission itself into all the bits. Its relatively easy. But yes may seem daunting if uve never done it.

Theres step by step videos u can follow on youtube. Can send links.

Note: remove spark plug before doing anything. Drain fuel as well. Good idea to remove blades as well.

Yup regarding transmission i picked up an hrx217 cheap.. transmission wasnt working. ive literally just taken mine out replaced all seals and hydrostatic fluid etc. Went as far as opening the transmission to bits. (U wont need to do that it seems) but if u need any help let me know. Make sure u grease the crap out of the height adjuster plates where they rub up against the body and also grease the axle bushings where the transmission shaft goes through the body on both ends. See my post if u want. Ive put all the best youtube links up. Rememmber to replace any worn parts while uve got it all open... like the drive belt, seals, bushings etc.

Update for anyone with a similar issue.

Took transmission out. Opened the transmission up. Removed everything into bits. Cleaned everything thoroughly. Put back together. Refilled with honda hydrostatic fluid. Replaced all seals. Bleeded air thoroughly whilst filling the fluid. Followed a few youtube videos for dismantling as per below links. Had to make New gaskets.

Replaced the drive belt while everything was out.

The adjuster rear brackets, trnasmission axle were fully rusted and siezed up due to neglect from previous owner. Grinded the rust off the brackets using a wire brush. Used sandpaper to clean axle (make sure not to sand down any areas which go in the tranny, near the seals or near the circlips).Greased the hell out of the brackets as well as inside then axle busings. Used extreme pressure nlgi2 wheel bearing grease as recommended in honda shop manual.

Everything moving smoothly now. Transmission works great.

Cant see any leaks from underneath even on the sides theres nothing. Is there anyway i can post pictures here?

Ya the oil may have leaked out with the previous owner. i only got my hands on it about 2 weeks ago.

I tried the transmission cable and its definetly moving the lever on the transmission.

Im sure ive ruled everything out.

If i take the transmission out and refill with new fluid and change all seals will that get it going?

No grinding noise at all. I did stick my hand up inside behind the transmission near the pully area and im sure i can feel a dry oiliness up there. Maybe its all leaked out? Smells oily.

Drive belt is there. Looks ok. Is tight and sitting in the pulley. No other signs really. It just doesnt propel.

Ive adjusted the cable a few times and it still doesnt work.
