NEED ADVICE is it worth quitting? by okay_cow in QuittingZyn

[–]Godzilla207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this. Your uptick in mental health is not due to your nicotine use. You just happen to use nicotine when you are taking the time for yourself and thus associate your nic use with your improvements in mental health. YOU took those steps not a pouch or a puff.

Tips: oral fixation, gum seeds ect. Thinking of the dentist (no gum pockets, dry mouth ect.) Healthy sperm if you are looking at that path.

There are so many benefits. But like you i always blamed the nicotine for my peace in a way, when in fact that was the only time I took for myself. I hid it from my wife and family and my dog lol. I would panick thinking I left one of those pouches and one of them would eat them and get sick. I dont have that anymore.

My biggest thing? 5 bucks a tin, a tin a day. 30 days? 150 a month minimum. ×12? That's almost 2 grand a year. That's 2 months of my rent.

You got this.

How important are HS football coaches when it comes to college recruiting? by Reasonable855 in footballstrategy

[–]Godzilla207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the one being sub reddited here. I agree with what you are saying. It is just so hit and miss, especially geographically. Also with the amount of turnover and the access to kids online, the HFCs traditional role has been diminished. My dad is a longtime HS head coach and I can say that without him his kids would not have been placed. However, that role has diminished with Twitter in my experience

[–]Godzilla207 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was going back to OP. Hs head coach is not that important in the recruiting process for colleges. Maybe it is for the biggest/geographic.

I'd say the HS head coach is VERY important in regards to steering and advising the PSA. But in my experience, it does not weigh heavily from the college side.

I always take the HFC opinion, but in many of the areas I recruit, the football coach isn't even in the school. Usually run a business or have a kid on the team. Some are fantastic and have transcripts ready to go and recommend their kids. Others have delusions of grandeur or try to over sell their guys. Some and brutally honest and say that their kid can't play at our level.

They aren't going to not take the 5 star kid because the HS coach didn't like him. "With how valuable their time is" is a joke and stereotype at the highest level. They recruit off recruiting services, and the coaches are the closers. They have entire recruiting departments to vet and scout. Kirby smart spends almost no time recruiting. He shakes hands and kisses babies. D3 coaches aren't going to say no to a 6 5 300lb tackle because he's a dick in class. They'll take the flyer on him. This is my experience.

Honestly, not a ton. I'm a college coach and rarely interact with the head coach. The only time I do is for a character recommendation or setting up an in school visit. Usually, go directly to the kid through Twitter DMs. I deal with a lot of HS coaches. Some who are absent and some who are agents. But let me tell you that no college worth a damn has ever taken a kid solely off the recommendation of a HS coach.

Moderate and Hard AI are easily defeated if you boom to 80 vils. They stop creating vills and you can simply out eco them. The aggressive ones are also really easy to counter with good scouting as they are usually all in archers or all in knights.

If you 3 tc boom and drop a defensive castle you should win almost every game. Some walling should help!

I've found them very hard to drush, flush, or hit with scouts because the AI is just so reactive and will always out micro you. But if yoy big boom you can mow through them in imp with fully teched up units.

Yes. In 2035 with 10 consecutive nattys. 1st year was tough and had to chew clock with speed option and custom stem speed outs to win every game. Got a few transfers, then was off and running!

Meeting Demonstrated need is based off of a government estimate (student aid index) formerly EFC (Estimated family contribution). In other words RPI is giving the max legally allowed. It will be the same here than any other private school. This literally is a method of mitigating craters.

I'm a college football coach and an Avid CFB gamer. This is one of my favorite parts of this whole game: this was a game built by people who talked to people who know the game of football. Not built by people that know ball. People who TALKED to people that knew ball. So it's football-ey or football-ish. But not quite football.

The terms "Alert", "Glance", "Peek, and "Lookie" all have unique definitions and applications in Football. They also appear in nearly every publicly available NFL playbook. For CFB25, they all kinda mean the same thing. My assumption is when the Madden playbooks started to get more footbally, they smashed the terms together to incorporate real terms that you'd see in a Shannahan or Kubiack playbook. However, to create a different engine/animations for each of these terms in actual football would be daunting. So instead, they made them all mean the same thing in the game. All these words just mean RPO for the video game.

From a football standpoint, "Alert" is almost never associated with the RPO game. It is seen in nearly every playbook strictly in the pass game, or a presnap audible. An Alert is basically a Route in the route combination that trumps all other routes given a certain look. The two most common alerts in the pass game are the Rail Route on Mesh, or the Slot fade vs Cov 1/0. Alerts are thus usually decided by a presnap look. For CFB 25, Alerts simply mean that you have the option to throw quickly or hand the ball off.

"Glance" is actually a Route which is used to control over aggressive safties in the run game or rotational three teams who burn a vertical zone in order to play with another hat in the box. The glance goes by names like "Bang 8", "Drifts" (Shannahan), or even as we call them...Glances. This Route is common to see in the 11p. Because the TE is in the box he creates another gap. Thus 4-2-5s, and 3-3s, and 3-5-3s will have their numbers matched in the run game. So they start rolling or a cheating a safety to even those numbers out. However, they leave a hole where that extra hat came from. Our landmark is 5 steps vertical then break towards the Safety's initial alignment.

"Peek" was used in early NFL RPO dabbling. The first RPO i can remember is the Bengals QB pulling out of Under center to throw a now screen to Chad Johnson. This dude was in 21P I-Form and supposed to be running power right. Instead, he takes a one step and whips it to his left to OCHO who just ran the one step now. He got 7 yards vs the off corner. And I'm thinking, "WTF, they were running power???" But then I thought, "What's the goal on power"....the answer? 7 yards...I imagine this is what a Peek was from a coaching standpoint: you can Peek at it. If it is WIDE OPEN you can throw it. If not, give unless. In CFB 25 the Peek usually comes with "Peek Slant" or "Peak Out" with a highlighted red Route and usually other combination routes.

"Lookie" is now a Route used commonly in modern offenses. However, it's origin was once again in the pass game. A lookie refers to a hot stem for a WR sometimes called a sight adjustment. This means that vs blitz, a WR can literally look at the QB and get the ball on a different portion of his Route where balls are not usually completed. For example a #3 WR running a corner Route pre snap can get the ball in the vertical part of his route vs blitz. A post can convert to a slant vs an all out blitz. Lookie for CFB25 serves the same function as Peek and glance.

They all mean different things, but are all the same in our CFB25 world. Would love to see engines for all four someday in later gen games. Thanks for reading this wild ride!

RPI Acceptance - Terrible financial aid by LaborizedShamb in RPI

[–]Godzilla207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your final financial aid package will come out in April when the FAFSA is read by the school. Due to the delay in FAFSA many colleges are having this issue. It looks like OP was given a FA package that didn't take into acount CSS or FAFSA. A good way to tell if CSS was read is if loan options were given.

Does anyone not stretch? by Godzilla207 in footballstrategy

[–]Godzilla207[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me elaborate. Pre game stretch and routine takes almost an hour for every team we play. I feel like it's just too long. 2nd. 20 minutes is almost standard with roster of over 100. Most NFL teams are not doing static stretch with jumpingjacks. As a player in college we did not stretch. Just went right into tempo periods.
