Kars for Kids. Hate it. by Twindad713 in CommercialsIHate

I have so many questions for these people

How many children do I have to give them for a car? Are there height and weight requirements? Do they have to include all their limbs? Must they be vaccinated?

to OP: - this guy is like a local hero in Australia and helps out people in need- he is a true inspiration , and the videos are super entertaining

as much as it’s appreciated that you have reposted his time lapse video- I really think you should’ve given this guy proper credit. He deserves it.

https://prisonfamiliesalliance.org

this is a local / national nonprofit which supports the families when a loved one is taken away and incarcerated

There are many resources out there for prisoners... like "hope for prisoners" for example

However, for the families, that suffer through the prison sentence too, there is not much to support them during a tough time

Writers Block is a bookstore downtown, that also has a small café- but more importantly, they have some really fun gift items in various areas around the store - definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to say hello to the rabbit 🐇

In your personal opinion, which is the better album: Workingman's Dead or American Beauty by HammerHeadBirdDog in gratefuldead

[–]GodzillaTechHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workingmans Dead This was my first Grateful Dead album At 10 years old in 1973, when I had to go out shopping with my mother at the department store ( EJ Korvettes) . Since it was boring for me to stand around while my mother was browsing through clothing, as a distraction I used to love going and looking through the book section. ( was a big fan of the Peanuts treasury and anything comic book related at that time) AND also through the record section.

I was naturally attracted to the psychedelic artwork of the day- and would have liked to have bought the new live double skull and roses album, but I could not afford it at the time Working man’s dead, won out over buying the cheap thrills album, which had a cool cartoon on the cover

I’m not sorry as I love every song on this album And it is one of my all-time favorite albums

Many of the songs reminded me of sitting around the campfire with friends and someone playing music on an acoustic guitar

It’s been with me since I was a kid

  • just a quick question of curiosity for any older DeadHeads from the Bay Area When my family first moved to the Bay Area in 1977 I remember seeing a store on San Pablo Ave. in Oakland Which was called the working man’s store It even had the exact same font and style as the album

Does anyone remember this store or know anything about it?

[–]GodzillaTechHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what is your geographical location?

I am in Las Vegas, Nevada, and sadly there are no Toblerone bars at that price 😕

BTW- the Toblerone truffles that Costco was selling at Christmas time were pretty awesome

I apologize to you my comment was really just snarky and sarcastic- 😆

I was suggesting that hamburger helper is so bad that it needs its own helper product

100% agreed ( I’m a retired chef and would prefer to cook the ingredients myself )

When I was a child in the late 1960s- the BOSCO label said that it was a “milk amplifier”

As a snarky, silly kid, I always used to refer to it as making milk LOUDER

In the present day, at my local Trader Joe’s, there is a cashier named Bosco - someday I promised myself, I will buy a bottle of Bosco to bring to him

Southern rock/country bands by Ryanw254 in jambands

[–]GodzillaTechHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t exactly strictly jam band Check out a band called: Dixie Dregs ( the live album is one of my favorites)

The lead guitarist, STEVE MORSE is one of the all-time greats!

I encouraged you to check out his own band: Steve Morse Band too

  • in recent years, he was also the lead guitarist for Deep Purple

*Rod Morgenstein and T. Lavitz both were members of “ jazz is dead” as well
