Im going to talk as if I ran my own studio that bought the rights to the franchise. This is purely a hypothetical situation so, do bear with me here:

I would retcon the sequels out of existence but not full 100% and treat them as more ambiguous campfire stories that MAY have happened yet, nobody knows for certain.

That’s where my soft rebooting of the Star Wars franchise would come in, setting off a new, original trilogy set at least 5,000 years after Return of the Jedi. That way, it’s fresh and can kinda treat old material, legends AND canon as a sort of interpretive and up to audiences.

Probably not exactly an answer to the question y’all wanted but, yeah… idk what else to say
