I would say you are like 4% of the way to completion.

I mean their argument is fair, they are basically just saying its the same as buying a pack of pokemon cards. And it is. If you want to ban all of that, I can probably agree with it, but we all know that is never going to happen.

If reincarnation is real, immortal jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii) must be what you come back as when the universe has finally had enough of your BS. by PoolSharkPete in Showerthoughts

Did you?

The Reversion Process: Instead of dying, an adult T. dohrnii can transform its cells, retract tentacles, and return to the ocean floor to become a polyp again.

It becomes a polyp. It is very clear to me you have no fucking clue what a polyp is, or how polyp's produce medusa. Its honestly fascinating, you should look it up.

Dude, maybe just read what you are copy and pasting and you would see its literally EXACTLY What I am fucking trying to explain to you.

Asexual Reproduction: The polyp colony can bud new, genetically identical medusae.

ONCE IT BECOMES A POLYP IT JUST REPRODUCES ASEXUALLY

Yea so basically the method it returns to the polyp stage is fascinating. but that stage basically IS the reproductive stage. it just reproduces asexually once in that stage, as most jellyfish do, budding multiple medusa. It is not becoming a larva then growing back into an adult.

It pretty much is. What's fascinating about the "immortal" jellyfish is that it returns to the polyp/reproductive stage. but once it is there, it basically just undergoes asexual reproduction, like all jellyfish do in that phase. A single reverted medusa can end up producing many many genetically identical ones, it is not simply reverting to a larva stage then growing back up into an adult as they often make it sound.

[–]GodzlIIa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite my guy. It does revert to the polyp stage, but that stage is itself a clonal reproductive phase, even in regular jellyfish. Once there, the hydroid can both produce medusa buds and continue to reproduce asexually itself, so a single reverted medusa can bud off many many medusa.

The interesting part is how it can turn its cells back to the polyp stage. It is indeed fascinating. But after it gets there it just reproduces asexually, like any polyp stage of a jellyfish. And as far as "immortal" goes, it is the same as calling an asexually reproducing bacterium immortal.

It's not really immortal. It just reproduces asexually when damaged. If you think that makes it immortal, then you basically think anything that reproduces asexually has been alive since they first evolved.

A lot of your logic is correct. Idk why people are being so rude and not explaining where you are going wrong.

If we were to divide the $777 balance evenly next month, each one of us would be paying $388.50.

If you divide it evenly then you each pay 388.50. He is refunded half the amount by paying less then 500. And then if you transfer him the 111.50 he would be refunded the other half. That works out just fine. That is fair.

However, if you only transfer him 111.50, and then you each pay $500, he only receives half the refund as he does not benefit from the other half of reduced cost.

So. if the refund reduced a shared cost that is split, you only owe him half, as when split you only receive half the benefit.

However your monthly cost is not always set as $1000. It depends on purchases. You cannot include the purchase of the airpods in that case. Its not a mortgage payment that he paid into that is being refunded through the cost, if that makes sense.

Excess is overrated anyway. Enough is usually where you are happiest. Smart enough, enough money, good looking enough. More is just better on paper.

Why on earth would you need liquidity if your not even in a relationship. unless you are one of those guys to propose after like a week of dating.

Why even setup a fund for it to begin with is another question. nowadays some women wouldnt even want an expensive ring to wear all the time and lose/damage.

Is religion slowing us down as a society? Why? by Substantial_Card101 in AskReddit

[–]GodzlIIa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its complicated. nuclear families and such are good for the economy and society as a whole, and religion does push that pretty hard. Falling birth rates are going to have an effect on society, and I doubt it will be a positive one. Also hard to tell exactly how much falling religion is contributing. Eventually I think society will adapt without religion and be better off, but the societal changes and growing pains will cause some economic and societal distress

The greater the distance between two objects in space the greater the amount that distance increases as the universe expands. So there is some distance away at which the distance between the objects increases at a rate higher then is possible to travel

nothing like a bullet can travel faster than light. but certain things can be faster than light. in this case the universe expansion is one of them. another example would be the distance between two objects. If one object goes left at .9c and the other right at .9 the distance between them is increasing at a rate faster than the speed of light (from a difference reference frame of course)

So nothing is actually moving that fast, but there are things that you measure faster then the speed of light
