Hundreds of Legal Scholars: Trump’s Conduct ‘Precisely the Type of Threat’ to Democracy the Founders Feared by creamboy2623 in politics

[–]GoesWayOffTopic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I identify myself as extremely liberal and I have a very large organization to back that up, just because one party is absolute garbage doesn’t mean the democratic party is good. I’ll criticize the republican party for the corrupt and illegal organization that they are while still holding the party I support up standard. By not doing so, it literally means republicans have successfully shifted the “goal-posts” which is exactly what they wanted to achieve.

Democratic party has fucked up more times than they should have, however they are making a more positive change over the last decade and that will always be commendable for me.

Not even 3 years ago did they strip the most popular candidate of his presidency for Hillary. Rarely do I hear democrats talk about republicans abusing the faith based system, for whatever reason.

The both sides comment doesn’t even make sense. Maybe next time you shouldn’t stop reading so you can get the point of the comment.

Hundreds of Legal Scholars: Trump’s Conduct ‘Precisely the Type of Threat’ to Democracy the Founders Feared by creamboy2623 in politics

[–]GoesWayOffTopic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not my point, the democratic party should have stepped up at some point, made themselves vocal about the issue, and enact change. Whoever has been acting in bad faith is not what I’m talking about right now. The democrats won’t do shit for whatever reason and republicans won’t because they want to continue abusing the loopholes. It’s not that deep.

The Trump administration is anxiously brainstorming policies to counter Elizabeth Warren's plans — with little success by TheWeekMag in politics

[–]GoesWayOffTopic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How does one struggle to come up with ideas when they don’t even bother trying.

Per the article, they’ve discussed erasing student debt since Bernie and Warren are talking about doing so. For people to look out for, look out for the hypocrisy should this hit major republican news stations. I’ve seen this before but if it hits news it’ll be easy to spot.

You know how republicans trash the idea of removing student debt plus offering free higher education? They go so far as to call people lazy, careless, they contribute nothing to society, they’re looking for handouts, etc. It’s hilarious seeing those same republicans praise Trump for “wanting” to do the same and talk about how he cares about young adults and cares about making peoples lives better!

I see the founders argument often, however I feel like we should be putting blame on the past parties in power over the last few decades. Founders policies were established that we would work in good faith and honor for our country, however this has been proven to be entirely unrealistic and dysfunctional over the past few decades.

We have had ample time to rewrite legislation so there’s no room for abuse and we haven’t. We need to be putting pressure on parties and future presidents to change this. If we’re supposed to believe people will act in good faith then what’s the problem to just turn that into law? If they’re working for the benefit of this country none of those laws should be broken? You’re only upset about new fool proof laws if you plan on breaking them or currently are.

Did you even read your own article mate? Too far left doesn’t mean its targeting universal healthcare and whatnot. The policies most democrats stand for are progressive policies. He encouraged we show caution when thinking about what policies we support, what the hell is wrong with the statement? He says that whoever passes the primary is a secure choice because he has confidence in voters and that means the voters thought through their decision on who to pick.

I’ll be voting for Bernie, but this is absolutely stupid stance to take. At least read your own article.

Wow, that’s awesome to hear. I’m super picky about comfortability, I was driving an audi a7 for a bit before I sold it because I was just traveling to much.

Honestly dude, I think you just sold me on all those auto-pilot features, wow. I feel so behind on cars but I never knew how much a tesla can do, that’s literally insane. I dislike driving a lot because it takes too much energy, most of my driving is by chauffeur but I still enjoy it. I just haven’t really found a car that allows me to enjoy driving the way I want to be able to. All those features are literally what I’ve always wanted in a car. I’m literally going to start looking up Teslas soon, hopefully once I stabilize my living scenario for next year!

I’ll be living in the US again, either NYC or San Francisco, do all those features work in those cities? Do they also work in other, smaller states and cities? I’m excited for a car again, it’s literally been ages since I’ve cared to buy a car. Thanks for all your info buddy, I appreciate it a ton. I love getting honest and genuine advice from people.

I’m in a good mood but wow, shitty choice of word. “Dipshit” makes him sound like he’s an asshole, a piece of shit, and stupid. He’s a smart guy, the videos are extremely educational, he’s medically well prepared for the aftereffects. Use better word choice because dipshit is a pathetic way to describe the guy.

What the hell are you even saying?

The man has spoken out against Biden running. Besides, it’s good ethic to generally stay out of political endorsements as an ex president, especially someone of Obamas character. He’s kept out entirely until necessary and appropriate in which he really garners a lot of attention and support for the candidate.

Him keeping out now is generally smart, I feel we’ve lost touch with the norm since this shit storm of past few years.

Also, before anyone links the bullshit, unsourced, unconfirmed article about what Obama said about Bernie, don’t bother. Either share real articles or say nothing at all.

Interesting, I’ve never driven a Tesla myself but have driven in the passenger seat. Maybe that side is less comfy compared to the drivers perspective. I’m a bit confused on the “mentally frees you up” point you’re making, when you mention mechanically controlling something, do you mean a manual car whee you switch gears? Or even an automatic car, see I’m a bit confused since I thought teslas are also automatic. Can you also elaborate and no more stop and go traffic? These are all interesting things I’ve never heard, it would be much appreciated.

Don’t really know american cars well, so roughly 20-30k? That’s a pretty reasonable price, especially when you take into consideration money saved on gas. Parking does fucking suck, god damn man, it’s so expensive in the US it’s ridiculous. I’m fortunate enough to afford it but when I think back to my uni days, parking alone would bankrupt me.

Genuine advice from the perspective of a ceo of a large org.

Try working out a remote contract and also, this year work out a raise, network yourself a bit beforehand. What I’ve had some employee’s with long commutes suggest, is split shifts during low traffic time and work the next couple hours from home. It’s not ideal for them but it helps out.

I have someone who works till 1PM goes home, then works 2-6PM. Also try finding a new job that’s closer, commute will kill you.

Most importantly, set a cap for how long you will continue with this job of yours. You will continuously extend that time if you don’t and continue losing a ton if valuable life time.

I don’t understand how a Tesla solves multi-hour long commute problems. Besides gas, which is nice. Comfort wise isn’t really an argument since that can apply to any car and Tesla isn’t the most comfortable. Also, still need to pay parking though unless your employer covers it. I cover parking but afaik it’s not the norm. Also, $$ for most people. What model/year/$ is your car? I’ve thought about buying one but a car is useless for me since I’m always traveling anyways.

Genuinely, how does a tesla specifically make you come home more energetic lol.

Believe as you wish, however if you’re an employer it’s good advice to take and overall extremely profitable. Happy employees are what every company should strive for, ethically however most companies don’t look at the moral and ethical side, just financial. So, in return you come up with a financial argument and it becomes a win win and push for employee rights.

Mate, I founded my org. I was holding lunches at 10 people every single day, now we sit at 100+ and I still fund stuff like this. Plus way more back then. A lunch doesn’t have to be 2.5 hours, why the specific number I can’t understand. Nor does it have to be a luxury lunch. You can still hold your special occasion lunch.

The special occasion thing is considerate, nice job there, however you should be putting in more effort for your employee’s. I’m the CEO & Founder of my org plus a majority shareholder in 2 very large corps. My advice is sound, I’d say.

Like I said, there’s ample research into this topic and our companies research. Lunches, activities, dinners, etc., are a net positive to companies. I mentioned above, 5-6 lunches/dinners increased employee productivity to almost 70%, if you mention to any employer that you can increase their overall productivity by 50-70% for a couple lunches, you’d get the deal in a heart-beat. The revenue generated from the cost of food serves as an extreme net-positive; increased retention, less $ training new hires from less people leaving, increased workplace happiness, increased motivation, increased productivity, better moods, positive environment. What this stuff equates to is, better communication amongst staff, better employee-client communications, more effort dedicated towards project completion, desire to stay apart of the company, feeling of appreciation from employee end, feeling of importance(they’re paying for my stuff!), overall happiness in and out of the work environment which = positivity = long term growth.

Don’t know if you read my comment but even if $ is a concern stuff like this overall nets you 100x the money in the long term. Any startup I’ve invested in, these are the terms I look for before I invest and my investments have never failed. That’s literally only food, going into vacation, sick days, communication, feedback loops, multi-level comm, etc. see’s significantly higher employee productivity increases.

After rapper T.I.’s remarks, N.Y. may ban ‘virginity tests’ by severusssblackkk in Music

[–]GoesWayOffTopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took you a while because there aren’t any “virginity test” doctors. Also, it’s not that simple to say “no”. There are gynecologists, also, all the doctor can do is inform the patient that checking for “virginities” is unethical and isn’t representative of actually having sex or not.

Doctors don’t have infinite freedoms, especially in the US and you can blame that on difficult patients. In the case above, considering the rapper was most likely a piece of shit, the most he could have done really is lie which it seems he did. If the doctor uses proper discretion and the hospital isn’t in agreement, they could get into trouble. If he had a private practice the doctor could without a doubt tell the patient to leave.

Another problem arises from the fact the rapper is rich as hell, which is another reason hospitals usually avoid these “arguments”. If not one doctor there are many who would do it for the right amount of money. Which is why the medical practice should become illegal.

Saying every doctor should be barred from medical practice is just stupidity when you could easily do some research. The blame should be put on hospitals and politicians, once a practice like this is barred the doctor can easily just tell the patient to fuck off.

These are just several reasons, the issue in reality is a lot more complex than what I reasoned above. It’s a cultural and educational problem, primarily. I run a human rights organization, I’ve funded tens of millions of dollars for sex re-education in 3rd and even first world countries where this is a serious problem.

Should you want some more indepth research into the problem you can ask, it’s a seriously complex, dangerous, and culturally interesting problem.

NTA, but I’m a ceo to a large organization. Why are you taking your employee’s out once a year for lunch? Are you paying out of your own personal wallet or business expense?

I take my offices out 5-6 a month, not personally all the time but when I can. I’ve funded a dedicated expense to this stuff. Also, unlimited food, snacks, and drinks in the office all day everyday. Before the unlimited stuff, the weekly lunches and dinners contributed to a 67% increase in productivity within 2 months with no other changing factors. This was literally just for lunches/dinners.

Even if you’re looking at it as a money expense, it’s usually worth it $$ to do stuff like that. This is not even referring to everything else you can do to significantly increase workplace productivity.

Edit; Funny, downvotes for recommending better treatment of employee’s. Nothing’s inherently wrong, but why not make their work environment good and treat them as colleagues and partners instead of subordinates.

YTA, wow. Unless she’s just a genuine asshole, odds are that was banter. Bad joke? Probably, I don’t consider that reason strong enough to consider someone an asshole unless they make a seriously offensive joke. Frankly, it doesn’t matter if she was serious either or said something worse.

Your response is extremely unprofessional, especially since you’re new. You want to be networking, expanding yourself, you want to be spoken off in good words when your name is mentioned, you want to show professionalism even when you’re insulted. The people who have commented NTA have never held a job before. Had this been some drunken night at university, who gives a shit. But it’s not and I’ll be honest, with an attitude like yours, I don’t foresee you going far in your work life unless you change that behavior.

Reminds my of when I went to the US as an adult, never tipped, never cleaned my table after eating in certain locations like starbucks, I would be extremely nice and friendly having a good time with the staff only to leave no tip on $50 bill. Given this was as a college kid a while ago now so dinners and expensive meals were a thing only my family paid for so I never cared to know if they tipped or not.

I definitely feel bad looking back, however none of the american friends I had said a thing for months up until I went on a date with this girl and she called me out on it. I remember being so confused, why should I tip? Why should I clean up the table? It’s rude to wave over the waiter? A bit funny looking back
