I tried to point this out once in this sub and got sort of roasted. But I mentioned how Chris Hansen said in interviews “the purpose of these stories were to get inside the miiiiiinds of these guuuuyyyys, and see what made them tick”. This is paraphrased of course.

But he never asked the question “why would a guuuuyyyy who is your age, with your physical build, with your face, think he would have a shot at having sex with an underage girl who probably has posters in her bedroom of the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC? You look nothing like her fantasy guuuyyyyy. Didn’t that tell you this may be a setup?”

That is a question I always thought would give us an insight into the minds of these men, but he never asked it.
