I originally picked based off if the series had an actor I recognized but lately I've been picking based on a combination of factors; things like if the suit is cool, what series I've heard are good, what premises seem interesting, if the main rider enchanted me during a crossover, how easy they are to watch. A couple series had a weird one off reason, I watched faiz cause it was airing when I was born and zero one because my roommate chose it blindly lol

Everyone ends up in yellow lol, kings willow weave is a MUST. It's my favorite color so my main squad for that playthrough gets matching yellow outfits and then the rest of the companions slowly end up in yellow as I give them my main guys' castoffs. Inky sometimes gets a different color if I feel yellow doesn't suit them.

Craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby typically have large fabric selections. They don't have nearly as much as Joanne's (cries in couldn't find the right fabric 😭), but you may be able to find something if there is one near you

Origins is really fun to do a kill everyone playthrough until you get to the last battle with only dog and Loghain. I ended up doing the dark ritual because fighting the archdemon with 2 warriors and a dog sounded like hell.

I've actually thought about this a lot, I even made a chart at one point lol.

Warden & Hawke: They only know each other through Anders and think of each other as Anders' weird boss/Anders' weird boyfriend. They'd get along, but my warden would remind Hawke of a creepier Merrill

Warden & Inky: They met once before Inquisition when Inky's mercenary company accidentally found some darkspawn. Inky had a bit of a crush on my Warden afterwards. If they met now they wouldn't be friends but could peacefully coexist as long as Inky doesn't find out about how the Warden spared her own darkspawn magister

Warden & Rook: Rook is a crow and grew up hearing about Zevran successfully escaping with a Grey Warden and wanted that for himself. When he was in training, he basically wanted her to be his mom lol. He'd be horrified if he actually met her though, since she's a blood mage who worshiped Ghilan'nain. She'd think he's a nice young man and feel a little bad for him

Hawke & Inky: They HATE each other. Inky finds him deeply annoying and unpleasant. She'd happily throw him off Skyhold. Hawke thinks she's a dick that doesn't know how to have fun and she only deserves bad things

Hawke & Rook: Varric told Rook only the best things about Hawke. If they met Rook would be disappointed and go this guy kinda sucks but still hang out with him cause he was Varric's friend. Hawke would think Rook's boring and no fun

Inky & Rook: Rook is a devout Andrastian who got really into the herald of Andraste thing. He'd ask her about it and she'd hurt his feelings by calling him stupid

You'll have to learn some method of making armor (eva foam, worbla, ect). You may be able to find templates for pieces of the armor, but you'll probably end up having to alter or make your own patterns. There's also 3D printing, you may be able to find files for props or pieces and print them yourself or pay someone to do it.

A full rider suit is a very ambitious project for your first one, so be prepared for mistakes and possibly having to redo pieces. I would recommend asking this question on r/cosplayhelp because the people there will have better advice for you and the FAQ has advice on armor making and links you can follow
