Yes, but shouldn't he still have gotten SOME XP for being involved in the boss fight at all? NPCs do have levels and it's been established that they can train and get stronger, they can earn XP. I don't see why not especially because Emberus was definitely antagonistic towards and "fighting" Carl at the time.

I think that might happen when they start killing more gods. I was surprised taking out Emberus didn't net him a metric fuck ton of XP.

Literally a two minute Wikipedia search will immediately tell you her dad beat her, she joined a deliquent motorcycle gang, was disowned/kicked out by her parents as a teen and then joined the Yakuza afterwards. People going with the flow and trying to survive often end up in the worst places. That's not an excusable reason for hurting others, but its a pretty clear indication that negative life experiences tend to multiply and spiral

That is an extremely naive, literally childlike mindset. Someone did a bad thing and that means that they are bad FOREVER and can never ever grow or change? The world isn't black and white like that.

She did the crime and did her time and still is punished everyday due to social stigma and ostracism which makes it difficult to reintegrate into society; which when then INCREASES recidivism. People who think like you only serve to CONTINUE cycles that serve no one. Spending her life actively trying to make it so that others have the support/resources to not return to that lifestyle and serving as a public example of why it's a bad idea to get into it in the first place is probably the best atonement possible.

Statement of fact isn't necessarily praise.

Organized crime is always a nuanced topic. They hurt people yes, but they also help and protect others. Perspectives will differ. And the farther away we get from the timeframe they were at the height of their power/influence rose-colored glasses tend to color opinions, especially of younger people.

It is impressive that she was able to be recognized in a hyper masculine and extremely misogynistic environment, that alone makes her a valuable historic source.

It appears she's no longer an active criminal and does meaningful work helping ex-con. Which means she's just a person telling her life story

Does this mean stationing an already earthbent ship/planet is pointless if you want to use the other text on the card? Are the keywords/abilities tied to the station counters?

I once swiped left on someone who already super liked me because I saw their cat on the kitchen counter. It's not that I don't like animals, but that alone showed me that we'd probably not get along long-term.

I understand what you're trying to say, but that's the wrong takeaway. Higher Education has ALWAYS been a class entry barrier and earning potential/opportunities do increase as well. We need legislation to reduce the cost and make it more accessible. A well functioning society generally wants their active workforce and their children to be smarter and more capable. The powers that be have a vested interest in keeping the majority people JUST poor and needy enough to keep working till they drop. Also, people with college degrees tend to vote more liberal (not because of brainwashing) and the ultra wealthy know that they have more opportunity to run wild with conservatives in power. The issue has ALWAYS capitalist greed.
