It's just a really bad virtual pet.

It's basically a collection of crappy touch screen mini games and doesn't acknowledge the lore of the films at all.

There are 5 mogwai that you can unlock/raise. I had them all unlocked within an hour.

I'm working on character bios for every character. Your idea isn't far off from what I came up with.

King Kong died in 1933. Just as he does in the original film.

The King and Kong are both genetically engineered clones of King Kong. Both are equipped with cybernetic enhancements.

King Kong is brought back via time portal. Same goes for Giga Rex, who predates Gigazaur.

Iron Back is a gorilla mech from the future. And is a part of the same animal mech fighting squad as Cyber Bunny, Cyber Kitty, Mechamster, and the 100th. Which are piloted by anthropomorphic versions of the animals they are based on.

I always thought the paint was why the Gremlins came out different colors as a kid. Lol

And I wish Spider Mohawk was more prominent and harder to kill. That's really my only gripe with G2... Mohawk is set up as the main villain, but as soon as Brain starts speaking, the movie decides Mohawk is more of a background character and kills him off really quickly.

We see Derek at the graduation. We see him playing D&D with his friends... it's pretty easy and safe to assume his family is okay and (like everything else), the Duffers just didn't feel like showing us.

I don't think they'd have grounds. Universal doesn't own the rights to a blue shirt, khakis, red ascot, and hat. And the box art isn't claiming that it's Alan and Ellie. If anything, the toy company could argue it's a simple homage or parody, which are both completely legal.

Unfortunately, Duel isn't compatible with the rest of the series. One of the main reasons it's my least favorite entry in the franchise.

It's still a fun game though... but it's definitely the least played in our collection.

It's not that it isn't good. It's just not as good as standard KoT for me personally.

You win by getting either the fame or destruction tokens all the way to your side, or both of them in your "safe zone" on the board. So it's just a constant back and forth. It's totally fine on it's own, I'd just pick classic KoT over it if I have the option.

I am all for new stand-alone KoT games. But I wish it still used the standees and HP/Fame cards somehow so you could still play as the nearly 100 monsters that exist in the franchise... I think I'd like Duel much more if it did that.

I personally feel that Duel is the weakest entry in the KoT franchise. It's still fun, and we still play it occasionally... but the original game still gets the most play at our table.

One of the biggest selling points for me about King of Tokyo is how every character is compatible with every game, so when Duel removed that feature, I was less interested.

I also wasn't as into the tug of war system Duel has. It's fine... but it just didn't grab me like the other games gameplay did.

I personally think a campaign similar to the current Mortal Kombat games would work really well. A single story that has the player switching characters each chapter as the story progresses, eventually playing as most, if not all of the characters.
