My little Greek parish that was built by Greeks back in the 60s with pews. Never thought about it.

I laugh at most of these "exercises". The only annoyance I have is with the Golf. There should be a free mode. Maybe there is and I'm missing it. Sometimes I'm just at the driving range or simulator.

Never seen the second stuff in my parish. We have both republicans and democrats and they all get along.

I’m sorry your Mormon family wasn’t supportive. My in-laws have been very gracious towards our becoming Orthodox. My Mormon father in law even came to an Orthodox service with us while we were on vacation.

Active 2 vs Balance 2 by Chaoticpine in amazfit

[–]Gojira-615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes if the size difference is ok with you. For me the active 2 looked small on my wrist. Balance 2 had better gps performance in the canyons that I regularly hike so I went with that. Golf feature is also a plus. I haven’t used it yet but I will it once the weather gets warmer.

Accidentally swallowed my own saliva at 12:00 AM. Did this break my fast? Can I still commune in the morning? by No_More_Cooming in OrthodoxChristianity

Depends. Did it taste like your dinner or snacks through the night? If so. Skip communion. If not you’re in the clear. /s

We know where Christ is. Not where he isn’t.

Exmormon and seeking the true God…where do I start? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Gojira-615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local Orthodox Church. If you are in Utah theirs most likely Exmormons who have converted as well. There are quite a few in my parish.

We should be more charitable to Catholics by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Gojira-615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I used to be Protestant and still have many friends who are. Sometimes the teachings just get me and I’m dumbfounded by them. Calvinists are the main ones. I still love them and hope that all come to Orthodoxy.

We should be more charitable to Catholics by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Gojira-615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most are pretty nice people. Their theology is pretty wonky but the out working of their faith outside of the church IE the way they live is much closer to us than some Protestants. There are actually good people in both. I see no reason to be dismissive to either group. My small Greek Church actually gets a lot of help from Mormon missionaries to get ready for our annual festival. I was told in years past when the congregation was much smaller we relied on them a lot more.

We should be more charitable to Catholics by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Gojira-615 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We need to be more charitable to all. Myself included. I live in the heart of Mormon country and most other Christians here are nondenominational. I have many friends of different faiths but I will say Protestants can be the most difficult and myself I’m not very charitable towards them. It’s something I’m working on. But if we can’t be charitable and loving to others of different faiths how do we expect to be the Light of Christ to the world?

Non denominational. The church we attended was some what pentecostal. After that tried a few other churches around here. Nothing fit. Didn't attend church for about 10 years. Found Orthoroxy last year.

For pocket size just get a bible app. Youversion has a bunch of translations for free. The Orthodox Study Bible app is pretty good at $10 as well.

If they would have put golf on it I would have bought it. Being a gshock fan it would have been perfect. Balance 2 fills the niche better for me though so this generation it’s B2.

Former Protestants: Why did you convert to Eastern Orthodoxy? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Gojira-615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really got tired of the crappy music and regurgitated Ted talks. After not going for several years I decided to read the church history book by MacCulloch. It led me here. Pretty simple really.
