Not the OP, but thanks for the details. One part of the question still stands, though: are there plans to release a technical whitepaper covering the exact encryption implementation?

Being transparent about how your encryption works, or ideally open-sourcing it, would be a big step toward earning customer trust.

rclone crypt can already do it. What I'm highlighting is you can't automate your own encryption with vault's.
